Top Ten Tuesday – March 19, 2013: Top Ten Books I HAD To Buy But Are Still Sitting on My Shelf

TTT

It’s Top Ten Tuesday, hosted by the wonderful blog at The Broke and the Bookish!

TOP TENΒ EIGHT BOOKS I HAD TO BUY… BUT ARE STILL SITTING ON MY SHELF

Surprisingly I’ve only come up with eight books for this topic. I guess that actually makes me feel a bit better about the amount of books on my bookshelf. It doesn’t really help MUCH that I still have plenty of books that I won/was gifted/bought with less urgency that are all still sitting on my shelves keeping these books company… Sigh.

BRITTANY. Daughter of Smoke and Bone. PLEEEAAASSEEE!!! Read it soon. It’s so gorgeous and lovely and I think you’d really enjoy it.
I just read Unearthly myself and it was really good, too. Like, good enough that I read it on my kindle, then bought all three books in print before I finished it. Oops!
I’ve got the audio of Every Day on my iPod right now! I had an ARC from BEA last year but never read it, so I’m going to give the audio a go. I’ve heard great things!!!
I hope you get to all these books soon! (But, you know, DoSaB first, maybe??):-)

You are so good! I have so many from years ago I can’t even remember. I have started the unearthing process which makes my room a complete mess for days.
Good luck getting to your yummy looking books soon. πŸ™‚

I totally forgot Daughter of Smoke and Bone! And Unearthly. And The Lost Girl. And What’s Left of Me. Bah! So many books to read! I wish I had more free time! Hehe. I hope you enjoy these! I’m so jealous you only have 8. I probably have a few hundred. πŸ˜›

Haha oh no, I hear ya! These were just the ones I HAD to buy. I still have shelves full of books that I didn’t buy with as much urgency πŸ™‚

I’ve read two of these books – Unearthly (which I liked) and The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer (which I really didn’t like). I’m glad that I’m not the only one who hasn’t read Daughter of Smoke and Bone πŸ™‚

I could have included Mara Dyer and Defiance on my list, they were two books I was so excited about when I first bought them, but I still haven’t read them! What’s Left of Me was a really good read, a little different but really absorbing. Well done on only having eight books too…I had way too many for me to choose, which is a slightly depressing fact, but also quite motivating as well! πŸ™‚

There are some good ones there! The Unearthly Series is a quick read (plus all three books are now out so no waiting). The final Mara Dyer book is one of my most wanted of 2013. Daughter of Smoke and Bones is a great fantasy read. I was surprised that the books I’ve boughten myself and haven’t read contain only Game of Thrones and Seraphina. I guess I just keep putting off reading my books about dragons.

Unearthly was a lot better than I was expecting it to be and I’m not a paranormal fan at all. Laini Taylor’s writing is gorgeous and I hope you’ll like it.

The Lost Girl has been sitting on my shelf for a loooong time. Well, it was actually on my Fall TBR list, and then… I never read it. I don’t even know what happened there. I do know that you have to read Mara Dyer, if only because it’s so very unique. (And creepy. And I loved it a lot!) And What’s Left of Me is actually one of the books that got me into blogging. Well, not really obviously, but it was a book that I have been eyeing ever since I started my blog and one that made me realize that there are so many books out there, so many I hadn’t heard of before blogging. But have I read it? Nope.

Haha maybe we can read them together! I always feel like I need a little extra push when it comes to books that have already been released and then sit on my shelves. With ARCs and such the release date is always a push for me to get to it but once a book is out? Then I don’t feel the drive to pick it up as much.
I really do want to read The Lost Girl and What’s Left of Me! I’ve heard so many good things about both but… somehow I still haven’t had the motivation/time to pick them up! Sigh.

Haha! SAAAAAME here! That picture would have been practically my entire book case…… And another one full of paperback mysteries that I haven’t gotten to. OOPS.
      Thanks for stopping by! πŸ™‚

Daughter of Smoke and Bone is so GOOD! I think I’m going to do a reread of it soon because I’ve been dying to pick up the second in the series. Kudos on only having eight books. My THREE HUGE SHELVES of unread books, bow to you.

Oh, I actually have three shelves as well haha – These were just the ones I bought that fit the TTT category of “dying to read but still haven’t read”. Sadly my TBR shelves are much bigger than eight books. Sigh!
Thanks for stopping by my TTT!!!! Always appreciated πŸ™‚

I’ve heard really great things about Daughter of Smoke & Bone! I hope you enjoy it when you read it :). Ohhh I really liked Every Day. But then again I’m biased because I adore David Levithan. Hope you enjoy it and I’m looking forward to hearing your thoughts if you decide to review it!

    Enjoy all of your books!

I MAY not get to Every Day until JUNE (I know, right?) because we’re reading it for book club. I might just hold off until it’s time for book club so I don’t have to refresh later πŸ™‚
I really need to read Daughter of Smoke and Bone too….Sigh. Someday!

If yes, I NEED TO KNOW. Christian or Tucker. Better be Christian. πŸ˜‰ Mara Dyer is in my near future as well. I hear we are missing out on some Noah Shaw. hahaha
