Welcome back to BOOK AND A BEVERAGE!

In case you don’t know the deal about Book and a Beverage, it’s a very simple yet fun feature: We read books, we drink beverages, we take pictures of them and then I share your photos and a little about you to the blogging world!

Let’s all say hello to Ashley from yAdultReview!

TheBlog

Name & Blog Name: Ashley at yAdultReview
Tell us a little about your blog! My dear friend and coblogger and I were blogging at another location and decided to branch off. I tend to cover YA and romance and Tina covers MG and sci-fi. For as good of friends as we are, our taste are completely different. I tend to start my reviews with “THIS IS A TINA BOOK. IT ISN’T BAD. IT IS JUST NOT FOR ME.” Tina and I take an interesting approach to blogging. We blog assuming only the other person is reading which is why we tend to be really sarcastic. Whenever one of my friends tell me they read my blog, I’m legit shocked.
What’s been your favorite post you’ve written so far? (Link us up!) Although I have many favorite posts, my two more recent favorite posts are my ALA 2013 post and my Code Name Verity post. I tend to like posts more when I ramble and make them personal. Others may not, but I do.
Got anything special coming up we should know about?
Tina and I have a ton of reviews coming up involving ALA books that we were lucky enough to receive. Tina and I will also be doing joint reviews, because every once in awhile we agree on things!

TheBook

bookWhatcha reading? The Coldest Girl in Coldtown by Holly Black
Where did it come from? (Library, purchased, publisher, etc) Publisher at ALA
Any special reason you chose to feature this book? It is legit what I am reading right now. I’m the person on goodreads who has about 8 different books going for them because I’m always reading something, but I also have no problem dropping a book if I can’t get into it and pick it up a week later. Because of this I have friends/coworkers asking me daily what I’m reading, or what audio book I’m listening to, because I’m a fickle beast.
What’s important that we should know about this book? Would you recommend it? Sadly I am not far enough into it for have an opinion; however, I have yet to read something of Holly Black’s that I hate and I was lucky enough to meet her (and her blue hair) at ALA.

TheBeverage1

boozeWhatcha drinking? Leinenkugel’s Lemon Berry Shandy. (I’m from Wisconsin, I think it’s against the law to drink something that isn’t from Wisconsin)
What’s your favorite thing to drink while reading? Arnold Palmer
Favorite beverage of all time. Go! Diet Coke. (Anyone who knows me is not remotely shocked.)

Bonus

What are your top three books you would recommend to other people? Aristole and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe by Saenz. Pivot Point by Kasie West. Bet Me by Jennifer Cruise. Important to note. This is at the moment. I change daily.
What’s your proudest blogging/reading/writing moment? Meeting Sarah Rees Brennan and her knowing my blog was pretty cool. Also, saying a very dirty word in front of Leigh Bardugo and having my friend just go O.O was pretty amazing. Also, meeting my best friend through blogging is just kind of sort of cool.
Anything else you’d like to share? I just got my library degree which means I will finally have time to actually read. And yes, I really am that snarky off the computer, and yes I drink more diet coke than I should. I also have probably forgotten something I will regret later.

Thanks, Ashley!! It was a pleasure hosting you on Book and a Beverage!

I am definitely going to have to try this drink when I go to Wisconsin! It looks so tasty. I loved Holly Black’s Curse Workers trilogy, so I am sure I will enjoy this one as well, it caught my eye a couple weeks ago 🙂

Sorry if you get this a few times, I’m having problems responding for some reason! ANYHOO. It’s not a Wisconsin only beer (I’m in Arizona) so you may be able to get it by you! Also, I LOVE the Curse Worker series, too!!

That beverage looks mighty tasty!!! Also, I’m reading The Coldest Girl in Coldtown too! I had read the short story of it a few years ago and really enjoyed it; the book is just that much better! Not too far into it, but it’s really gotten me hooked so far!
