Book and a Beverage

Welcome back to BOOK AND A BEVERAGE!

In case you don’t know the deal about Book and a Beverage, it’s a very simple yet fun feature: We read books, we drink beverages, we take pictures of them and then I share your photos and a little about you to the blogging world!

Name & Blog Name: Gretchen from The Printed YA Word
Tell us a little about your blog! Well, I first started my blog shortly after I graduated with my undergraduate degree in 2012. It started out as a way for me to read more YA, since I would be working with teenagers in a school setting, so I could recommend more books to that age group. From there, my blog has become a way for me to express my thoughts on the books I read and a way for me to interact with others with book blogs.
What’s been your favorite post you’ve written so far? (Link us up!) I really liked my “What is a librarian?” post I made earlier this year. So many people have different ideas of what a librarian should do, I felt compelled to write a post about.
Got anything special coming up we should know about? Well…I’m actually in the process of completely revamping my book blog. I’ve fallen into a bit of a blogging slump (that has extended over 2 months!) and I think this is the perfect way to come out of that. So keep an eye out for a completely new look (and name!) sometime in the future!

Whatcha reading? Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen
Where did it come from? (Library, purchased, publisher, etc) It was given to me as a birthday gift this year.
Any special reason you chose to feature this book? Is because I feel awful for not having read it yet a good reason? Just kidding, though I do feel out of the loop for never having read this book before. I mean, I’m a high school librarian and I’ve NEVER read Pride and Prejudice? That’s just…odd.
What’s important that we should know about this book? Would you recommend it? It’s a classic and I can definitely see why everyone seems to swoon over this book. If you haven’t read it yet, give it a chance!

Whatcha drinking? Cafe Mocha…mmm.
What’s your favorite thing to drink while reading? Iced tea. I can go through glass after glass of it while I read.
Favorite beverage of all time. Go! Definitely iced tea.

What are your top three books you would recommend to other people? The Hunger Games, Divergent, and Jane Eyre…those just happen to also be my top 3 favorite books.
What’s your proudest blogging/reading/writing moment?
Probably finding out that several students at the school I work for have read books based on reading my reviews.
Anything else you’d like to share?
Thank you for having me! 🙂 Oh! And if anyone is going to YALLFest in South Carolina in November, I’ll be there too!

Thanks, Gretchen! I actually haven’t read P&P either!! I’m not a big fan of the classics (I still hold a grudge against high school) but maybe this is a good one to try! 😀
