TOP TEN TUESDAY
November 25, 2014

It’s Top Ten Tuesday, hosted by the wonderful blog at The Broke and the Bookish! This week’s topic: Top Ten Books On My Winter TBR

Now normally when we do these seasonal TBRs, I head straight for the new releases that come out within those few months. For the first time in forever (you’re welcome for that Frozen song that’s now stuck in your head), I have an ACTUAL SCHEDULE. *gasp!* I have a few buddy reads plus a couple books I’m reading because I requested them from/they were given to me by an author that I’ve made a personal connection with and  I do not want to let them down. I’m terrible at following a reading schedule and usually these lists are total fails, but some of these I REALLY DO promise to read!

Andi (Andi’s ABCs) and I have decided to read When Joss Met Matt by Ellie Cahill together! We’re starting the first week of December as a totally casual buddy read but if anyone else wants to join in, you’re more than welcome! WJMM is Liz Czukas’ new adult book that comes out this February — right!? New Adult. I’m forging into new things. But I love Liz Czukas and her two YA books so I think this one is a safe bet for me!

I will be reading another new adult book *gasp* this one by Dahlia Adler. I LOVE Dahlia — she’s so personable and fantastic at interacting with people on Twitter and I just love talking to her — which goes to show you how terrible *I* am because I still haven’t read her first book (which I won from her. UGH. Seriously awful person. I PROMISE I WILL READ IT SOON, I PROMISE. DON’T HATE ME, DAHLIA). BUT because I love her so, I happily volunteered to take a part in a big promotion push for her upcoming new adult book Last Will and Testament! I’m so excited to read it and as soon as I finish my other books, this one is next on my list!

Last year, Estelle (Rather Be Reading) and I MEANT to read Lovely, Dark and Deep as a “winter read” and somehow we never did. Probably my fault? Since I’m not so good at sticking to the schedules (I’m gonna blame wedding planning?)… But hopefully we can read it together this winter! I’ve been meaning to!

swrr

It’s totally my fault that our On the Same Page schedule has been so messed up (oops, got married) but December’s read is Snow White and Rose Red, chosen by Alyssa (it’s her birthday month!) and we will definitely be reading this one! I’m excited for another group read with my besties!

zodiac

My last “planned” read is Zodiac by Romina Russell. I was so fortunate to receive this one from Penguin Teen (with a sweet promo package) and I want to do them justice by reading it on time/close to pub date! I need to be better at reading books I receive around their pub dates so this is one I really want to do justice to! (And I really want to read it too.)

Lastly are my selections that are actually being published this winter. OBVIOUSLY we have Fairest by Marissa Meyer coming in first. I may have to take off work after I get this baby because HOW can I start reading it and stop? All the Bright Places and I’ll Meet You There are two I’ve heard nothing but good things about and There Will Be Lies and Cut Me Free are two I received from the publishers that I’d like to read earlier rather than later! 🙂

I ACTUALLY chose ten books for once! YAY! And I think this is the first time I’ve done a seasonal post where I may actually read a majority of them “on time”!!!!

I’ll Meet You There is definitely a novel I’m very much looking forward to reading! I love Heather Demetrios, and I can’t wait to see what she has coming up for us next in the contemporary genre after Something Real 🙂 Also, happy reading! It looks like you have a great few months of reading ahead.

I’m curious about Ellie Cahill’s book to because I love Liz Czukas’s YA books. So I definitely want to give that one a try.

I really like Patricia C. Wrede. I haven’t read that one, but I think she’s a really fun writer.

Fairest, There Will Be Lies, and Zodiac (which I have also been waiting till closer to release day) are one my list as well. I also plan to read Cut Me Free as well. Also I loved Snow White and Rose Red as a kid. I didn’t know there was a whole novel version! Great list.

Bahahaha AS IF I could possibly hate you, ever, first of all; second of all, BOOKS ARE 4EVA so take your sweet time. I just read WHEN JOSS MET MATT last week and it was so freaking cute, and actually had a very YA feel, IMO, so if you’re not usually a New Adult person I feel like that could totally become a fave fast. I’m also excited for THERE WILL BE LIES – man, that totally should’ve been on my list! (Excited for I’LL MEET YOU THERE, too, but alas, no ARC chez Me.)

Zodiac and Fairest are on my list as well! I got Zodiac at BEA and still haven’t read it. Fail. And of course I’m dying for more Marissa Meyer. Plus I have a weird obsession with villains and I’m excited to hear more of Levana’s backstory.
