Name & Blog Name: Alison, The Cheap Reader
Tell us a little about your blog! I started The Cheap Reader right as I was finishing up college. I had always enjoyed reading up it fell to the side while I was in school. I was really looking forward to having time to read. I decided to put that reading to “use” by blogging about the books I would read.
What’s been your favorite post you’ve written so far? (Link us up!) It’s not a review but my “Discussion: When Did Book Blogging Start Getting So Spammy?” post opened up some really good conversation about book blogging and what I want to do with my blog.
Got anything special coming up we should know about? I’ve got a special edition of my If You Like… feature all about pairing TV shows with similar YA titles. There are some installments of it coming up.

book

Whatcha reading? Fairest by Marissa Meyer
Where did it come from? (Library, purchased, publisher, etc) Library
Any special reason you chose to feature this book? It just happens to be the book I’m currently reading. Plus I’ve been waiting for this book for quite a while!
What’s important that we should know about this book? Would you recommend it? It’s awesome so far! I never thought Levana could be a sympathetic character but I feel pretty bad for her.

beverageWhatcha drinking?  Downton Estate Blend Tea. It’s quite tasty and vanilla-y.
What’s your favorite thing to drink while reading?  Tea or coffee. They can be pretty good hot or iced!
Favorite beverage of all time. Go! Tough choice but I can’t go wrong with a really good cup of coffee.

bonus

What are your top three books you would recommend to other people? Unwind by Neal Shusterman, The Knife of Never Letting Go by Patrick Ness, Thorn by Intisar Khanani
)What’s your proudest blogging/reading/writing moment? I coordinated Classics Retold with several other bloggers and I think we all had a fun time getting to know classic books better.
Anything else you’d like to share? There are some big changes coming in my life so it will be interesting to see how things carry over to blog. I can’t wait to see what this year holds for me.

Thanks, Alison! So happy to have you on Book and a Beverage! That Downton tea is so much fun and it sounds delicious!! HOORAY for Fairest! I can’t wait for Winter! It’s going to be one epic finish!
