Book and a Beverage

Welcome back to BOOK AND A BEVERAGE!

In case you don’t know the deal about Book and a Beverage, it’s a very simple yet fun feature: We read books, we drink beverages, we take pictures of them and then I share your photos and a little about you to the blogging world!

Give a big welcome to Amber from YA Indulgencesbook and a beverage ya indulgences1

Name & Blog Name: Amber and YA Indulgences
Tell us a little about your blog! Well, I started it last year after researching about booktube and book blogs. I decided to focus on Young Adult since that is my favorite genre. My favorite specific genre is Contemporary so you can find a lot about that on my blog. I love contemporary with tough issues, social issues, dark topics and books with science fiction aspects. As for my blog, I have a few features on there, Wondrous Covers Wednesday, Musical Monday, More Than This Provincial Life and Amber’s Rambles. As well as a couple others. 🙂 I participate in the Top Ten Tuesday and Stacking The Shelves Memes. Besides those, I do tags.
What’s been your favorite post you’ve written so far? (Link us up!) My favorite review is Anna and The French Kiss by Stephanie Perkins. I get a little sarcastic and snarky in that one. I’m very partial towards my interview with Corey Ann Haydu. Finallly, my favorite post that I’ve entirely written myself is a flailing post about Veronica Mars I’m thinking there will be some book giveaways in the near future…stay tuned! 🙂
Got anything special coming up we should know about?  My one year blog anniversary is on Monday, the 20th of this month! I’ll be doing a kick off post for my celebration and doing a week of posts in honor of it.

book

Whatcha reading?
I’m reading A Million Miles Away by Lara Avery.
Where did it come from? (Library, purchased, publisher, etc): I sent in a request for it from the NOVL newsletter and ended up getting it!
Any special reason you chose to feature this book? I chose to feature this book because I think the plot is really interesting.
What’s important that we should know about this book? Would you recommend it? I think it’s important to know that this book is probably going to push some boundaries and is going to make readers question what they would do in a similar situation. There may be an urge to judge the main character for her actions, but I think it’s a wait and see situation. So far, I would recommend it, though I’m not far into it. 🙂

beverageWhatcha drinking? Starbucks Doubleshot
What’s your favorite thing to drink while reading? My favorite thing to drink is iced coffee! Or hot coffee.
Favorite beverage of all time. Go! Iced coffee! With caramel. Or smoothies.

bonus

What are your top three books you would recommend to other people? Can I say four? 🙂 Okay, my first book is All The Bright Places by Jennifer Niven. This was the first book of the year that really stuck to me. The second is I’ll Meet You There by Heather Demetrios. This one hit me even closer to home. The third was Because You’ll Never Meet Me by Leah Thomas, another book that I related to a ton. The final one was More Happy Than Not by Adam Silvera. 🙂 You know the rest of that goes with that sentence by now (I related to it!).
What’s your proudest blogging/reading/writing moment? Um, getting books from publishers is always impressive because it shows I must be doing something right. 🙂 I’ve also been blogging for almost an entire year which is just amazing to me that I’ve done it for so long.
Anything else you’d like to share? I think that’s it! I’m thinking of starting two guest post features on my blog, but I’m still figuring those out. Thanks for having me on your blog, Brittany! This was fun.

Thanks, Amber!! So happy to have you on the blog!
I love your recommendations! All the Bright Places and I’ll Meet You There are some of my favorites too!

OH HAI AMBER. 😀 I didn’t even have to look at your recommendations to know what books you picked for that. Haha. I’m very glad you decided to start a blog, and I can’t wait to see your blogoversary posts. Congrats on the one year! Drink all the iced coffee in celebration.
