As Seen on Bookstagram | Bookish Celebrity Sightings

After five years of blogging, sometimes it’s hard to come up with new ideas. So much has changed over the years, including my blogging style, many times over, and I’ve gotten so much more into taking photos and posting on Instagram as a part of my love of books and bookish merch!

In an attempt to keep things interesting and fun, I wanted to started a little something new for me where I take a post that I had originally shared on Instagram — or “bookstagram” for those in the book community — and took it a little further in a blog post. There’s a limited  number of characters that you can share on Insta and the point of those posts is more to get to the point, rather than writing a whole narrative, but sometimes each post deserves a few extra words, and “As Seen on Instagram” is a fun way for me to do that!

Sometimes I go through the books sitting around my library floor to see what I haven’t taken a photo of in a while and I came across NIGHTMARES! by Jason Segel and Kirsten Miller. I still haven’t read it yet but it made me remember when I got at ALAMW in Chicago a few years back, which I actually realized was almost three years ago to the day and not two like I had thought. How time flies!!

I attended ALAMW kind of by myself but I know enough Chicago book friends that I was able to tag along with a few people and I was hanging out with Katie from The Polished Page a lot that day! We ended up finding out that Jason Segel was there signing for NIGHTMARES! I hadn’t really had interest in the book but I was a huge How I Met Your Mother Fan and while I get to meet a lot of authors, it’s rare that I get to meet an actual TV/movie star! So we hopped in line, which was actually was surprisingly not too bad, and got a super quick meeting with Jason Segel!

The light from the window behind the signing table made for a horrible photo opp but it’s still pretty neat that I was able to meet him! I can’t believe that that was already three years ago! I feel like it was just last year, even though so much has happened since then.

Have you met any big celebrities? How did you end up meeting them?

Love this post idea! And that’s so exciting for you!! I went to a local comic con a couple years ago and got to meet Sebastian Stan, I was soooo excited!! I haven’t met many celebrities besides that- lots of close calls though! Haha.

Last May was a big for me! I met tons of authors and actors at Phoenix ComiCon. The biggest for me was meeting Diana Gabaldon that weekend. I cried when I met her!
