TGIF – August 31, 2012

It’s time for TGIF again, thanks to Ginger at GReads!

So this week’s TGIF topic (and the last for a while) is:
Choose Your Next Read: How do you go about choosing what you read next? Do you have a schedule you follow, or do you read whatever makes you happy at the moment?

Usually I have to pick what I’m feeling at the moment. A lot of times I have to be in a certain mood to pick up and book and really, truly enjoy it. It helps to get the most of out of the book too!
Lately I’ve had a few books that have been backing up for a while. I agreed to be a part of a couple blog tours and received a few ARCs so I’ve been trying to read those first and quickly since a few of them were traveling books!
Also, I tend to read library reads in groups and all at once – I’ll usually have quite a few books waiting for me at the library so I need to read as many as I can in three weeks! 🙂

When it comes to doing requests, sometimes it takes a minute to read it if I am not in the mood for that kind of book, but I don’t want to put it off until I am in a mood to read it since I make a request promise. I found some books that I would love to read right now, like Girl of Nightmares, but I think I am going to save them until October for a Halloween read list.

I think I’m gonna need to take a hiatus on blog tours and such! Especially ones that involve traveling books. They wear me out and I feel like I end up pushing books I really do want to read back in order to make room for soon to be released books. Right now I’m taking some time to catch up on all the books I have laying around my house that I’ve neglected for so long! 🙂

I need to do that too but I just can’t stop!! There are way too many new release books that I want to read and now I have four books from the library again (what happened to my library ban???) – I got caught up and now I’m behind all over again! I did turn down a couple blog tours and review requests due to that though, and the fact that they were a little outside of what I thought I might enjoy. I’m always flattered, but sometimes it’s really not fair to the author.
Hopefully I’ll have some good reading time this weekend, although I’m totally not into what I just started 🙁

I have a couple of big challenges that I do so lots of my reading is guided by those – but they are normal wide in variety with genres etc, so I can pick and choose. I try to have at least 1 non-fiction and several fiction going at once

I don’t usually pick up non-fiction, but I always seem to have at least three different books going at the same time. Sometimes I don’t know how I keep up!
      Thanks for stopping by 🙂
