TOP TEN TUESDAY
January 20, 2015

It’s Top Ten Tuesday, hosted by the wonderful blog at The Broke and the Bookish! This week’s topic is: Top Ten 2014 Releases I Meant To Read But Didn’t Get To

I wish I could read ALL OF THE BOOKS. I really do. But there were some 2014 releases and debuts I was especially sad not to read right away but… Can’t make it to everything! Here are books I didn’t read in 2014 that I hope to in 2015:

2014_books

Snow Like Ashes by Sara Raasch
Aย Thousand Pieces of You by Claudia Gray
Trust Me I’m Lying by Mary Elizabeth Summer
As You Wish by Cary Elwes
I’ll Give You the Sun by Jandy Nelson
Behind the Scenes by Dahlia Adler
Rebel by Amy Tintera
The Glass Casket by McCormick Templeman
Panic by Lauren Oliver
Plus One by Elizabeth Fama

So what do you think? These are some pretty big 2014 titles! Which books should I hit up first in 2015!?

Out of these I highly recommend Rebel and I’ll Give You the Sun! Rebel is such a fun book and the characters are awesome – we get Callum’s POV! And I’ll Give You the Sun is so beautifully written. Have some tissues handy!
I hope you’ll be able to get to these at some point, girl. ๐Ÿ™‚

Snow Like Ashes is soooo good! I think you’ll really enjoy it!

Trust Me, I’m Lying was another one I really enjoyed and A Thousand Pieces of You was pretty good. I also meant to get to Rebel, but just never got around to it. Probably because I remember nothing from the first book.

I got the Glass Casket from my TBTB Santa. I’m pretty excited about it and hope I can get to it soon!

Snow Like Ashes and A Thousand Pieces of You were also on my list. I’m probably going to read Snow Like Ashes next because I feel bad that I met the author and got the book signed but haven’t read it.

I really liked The Glass Casket! It was spooky and haunting and exhilarating all at once. Hope you enjoy it. I want to read As You Wish, too. I grew up on The Princess Bride, and would love to hear from Wesley himself. ๐Ÿ™‚

I meant to read Snow Like Ashes and Rebel also! Couldn’t find Rebel at the library which was a bummer. And I got A Thousand Pieces of You for Christmas, really want to read that! Ooooh the Glass Casket is amazing especially because you love Halloween! It’s dark and creepy and magical.

I was really, monumentally disappointed by Snow Like Ashes. But perhaps it was just me? I’m picky when it comes to fantasy. I LOVED I’ll Give You the Sun, though. The Glass Casket has such an interesting premise and I feel like I haven’t seen very many reviews of it — so I hope you get to that one and let us know what you think! Happy reading, and good luck conquering your TBR!

I have yet to read the entire left side of your list today and want to! A Thousand Pieces of You has been sitting on my nightstand for a while now. I tried to start it but it reminded me too much of All Our Yesterdays so I will try to pick it up later. Snow Like Ashes and I will Give You the Sun are supposed to be great!

Oh I forgot about As You Wish! I’m going to have to look for that at the library. I’ll give you the sun was excellent-but that’s the only one I can comment on from your list.

I just read I’ll Give You the Sun, and while it got off to a rough start for me, it ended up being really great! And I’m pretty picky when it comes to YA contemp.

Seriously, I think I could have made a Top One Thousand list this week! So many great-looking books came out in 2014. PANIC and TRUST ME, I’M LYING are both on my list — most of the others you listed are on my TBR mountain. Someday, I’ll get to them all!

I highly recommend I’ll Give You The Sun. It’s so amazing. The only problem is, it will set such a high bar for the rest of the books you read this year!

As I’m sure everyone else is saying in the comments, I’ll Give You the Sun is fantastic. One of my top books of the year for sure. The Glass Casket was very interesting, very atmospheric, and very darkly fascinating.
Plus One is one of the 2014 books that I really need to get to myself, and I’ve heard good things about it.
I hope you’re able to get to many of these soon!

Twinning! I need to read Snow Like Ashes and I’ll Give You the Sun too. Everyone is telling me that I will love Snow and for some reason I have been scared of the Jandy book since everyone has loved it. Support group for each other.

You definitely have to make time for As You Wish! If you’re even just a tiny fan of the film/book/Cary Elwes it’s great reading, one of my five star reads of 2014 in fact ๐Ÿ™‚ There are five books on your list I haven’t read and two that I have, Trust Me I’m Lying is pretty good if you like YA mystery/grifter stories!

I’ll Give You The Sun is really amazing! It has the most beautiful prose and the most intense and honest depiction of a sibling relationship that felt more authentic than most romances I’ve read. I really hope you get a chance to get to it soon!
