The Deja Vu Review is a new Sunday feature with mini-reviews from books I’ve read before I began my blog at The Book Addict’s Guide! Since I’ve been reading my whole life and only started my blog back in April of 2012, this is my opportunity to revisit some older books and share some mini-reviews of those that didn’t quite make it into the blog spotlight after the initial read.
This week’s topic is: A Book with a Strange Name
The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy by Douglas Adams
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
Original GR Review: Aw man, they’re gonna make me read all these books, aren’t they!? Ended as kind of a cliffhanger… And I’m not sure if I liked it or if I was just flat out confused by it haha. Douglas Adams is either highly intelligent, highly imaginative, or both……. Or really from another part of the galaxy haha. It was enjoyable — I definitely like being challenged to think outside of the box and what possibilities there could be outside of our galaxy. It’s a neat idea.
Comments: This one was kind of cheating because it was one of my very first reviews when my blog first started – But no one read my blog back then so I’m sure most people never saw it! I really liked this book a lot more than I expected to since I don’t really do “true” sci-fi, but it was funny, really well written, and the characters were either insane or genius. I STILL haven’t gotten to the second book, but I definitely will at some point.
Which books did you pick for this week’s Deja vu Review?

I haven’t read this one yet, but I do want to, especially after seeing the movie. I want to get the Barnes and Noble leather bound copy. I heard this book is really funny and I love seeing the number 42 pop up in stuff. Professor Snape does the voice of the robot, it’s awesome!
This is one of those books that’s been on my TBR for such a long time, but I’ve never gotten around to it. Probably because sci-fi isn’t usually my thing, but I’m intrigued by all the good reviews anyway!
I read this book years and years ago when I was in high school. I remember very little, except that the best thing you could have was a towel, or something like that. But I did like it. I never read anything else in the series though. Have you seen the movie? I haven’t, but I do think I should watch it sometime.
I don’t really do sci-fi either. 🙂
I haven’t seen the movie but I saw that Zooey Deshanel is in it? I’m interested!
