It’s Top Ten Tuesday, hosted by the wonderful blog at The Broke and the Bookish!
It’s a TTT Rewind week so that means we get to pick a previous topic of our choice! I scrolled through the topics and immediately knew which one I was going to pick! It’s from September 27, 2011 (Rewind, INDEED!)
TOP TEN BOOKS I WANT TO REREAD
This has been a topic that’s been on my mind for a while. Ever since I started my blog, I’ve read some SUPER AWESOME books. I used to reread all the time because, well, I didn’t know that many amazing books were out there. Now that I’ve found them, I can’t find the time to read the ones I HAVEN’T read much less the ones I have. It’s my goal this year to make the time to reread a few. And guess what. So far, I’ve failed. Here’s hoping that making a top ten list will spur me on to reread some of my recent favorites!
1. Anna and the French Kiss by Stephanie Perkins: I immediately fell in love with Anna and the French Kiss when I read it this past year. I got ALL THE FEELS from this book and I absolutely, positively adored how the relationship between Anna & St. Clair developed. Anna was funny, emotional, and a character I really connected with. I felt like I had so much in common with her and I just had a down right blast reading this book! I definitely need to pick it up again and SOON.
2. If I Stay by Gayle Forman: I became an instant Gayle Forman fan after reading If I Stay. It was a book that really moved me (I mean, I was reading at work and honestly trying not to cry as I sat at my desk). This was one of the first books that really helped me fall in love with the contemporary side of YA as well. Before that I was only seeking out dystopians & paranormals. It all changed with Gayle!
3. Where She Went by Gayle Forman: If I’m going to read If I Stay, I HAVE to read Where She Went too. I thought it was a brilliant follow up to the first book and totally didn’t expect to enjoy it so much considering it was from a male POV. I was pleasantly surprised to see how differently Adam’s POV read and how much I connected with him!
4. Just One Day by Gayle Forman: YES, I AM REREADING ALL OF GAYLE’S BOOKS. I mean, ever since I finished Just One Day, I’ve been dreaming about rereading it. I loved it THAT MUCH. I really want to have a Gayle Forman reread-a-thon before Just One Year comes out… Anyone else totally down with that???
5. Ready Player One by Ernest Cline: How amazing was this audiobook!? Thanks, Wil Wheaton, for narrating an amazing book and making it that much more awesome. I really want to go listen to the audio all over again. It was a blast to listen to and just a really fun book all around.
6. The Sea of Tranquility by Katja Millay: This book simply blew me away. I definitely want to reread this one again to absorb all of that beautiful writing and the amazing story of Nastya & Josh & Drew. These characters were just so real to me and I got totally invested in each of their issues. Katja Millay is also amazing at interacting with her fans and she’s been so sweet to respond to all of us who are fangirling over her book on Twitter/Goodreads!
7. Sweet Evil by Wendy Higgins: Sweet Evil contained the first character I fangirled over — Kaidan Rowe. I really want to go back and swoon for him all over again… It would also be helpful to reread before I start Sweet Peril which comes out in the end of April! Although realistically, I know I won’t get around to it.
8. Delirium by Lauren Oliver: Well, after Requiem, I’m not even sure I want to reread this series and in the saddest way, I’m not even sure I can recommend this trilogy to anyone to pick and start reading. I DO want to reread Delirium, though, because I really want to remember why I fell in love with this world, with Lena, and with Alex. I know I adored this book and I want to recapture that magic and restore my faith in this series just a little bit.
9. Walk Two Moons by Sharon Creech: Walk Two Moons was easily one of my favorites from my childhood. I think I read it when I was probably 11 or 12? Salamanca Tree Hiddle, her crazy family, her curious mystery, her creepy neighbor, and her cute little new boy friend were a delight to read about. I recently reread The Giver which was another childhood favorite and was not disappointed! I definitely want to reread Walk Two Moons and see if the magic is still there for this book as well! I don’t read middle grade for my blog, but I requested a book by Sharon Creech from Edelweiss to read — that’s how much I loved this book!
10. Size 12 Is Not Fat by Meg Cabot: I don’t read a lot of adult books anymore simply because well, I love YA for one, but also because I almost don’t feel like I have the time! The Heather Wells series was one that got me back into reading when high school was killing it for me with all its boring assigned books and I could not get enough of Meg Cabot’s hysterical characters and cute, swoony romances. I’d definitely like to start this series all over again after having read Size 12 and Ready to Rock (book four in the series) over the summer.

There are actually a few titles on here that I haven’t read yet – and I think I should get to them! Personally, I’d want to read the Harry Potter series over again one after another. And then I’d probably read all the Sarah Dessen books too!
I used to reread a lot too, before I started blogging. I actually did just make time yesterday to reread a favorite of mine, and it felt so good. But I probably won’t be rereading anything else anytime soon. I hope you find time to reread these. Love Anna!!!
I loved The Sea of Tranquility and Delirium. I’m not sure if I would re-read them. I’m not a re-reading type of person. I haven’t read the others on your list, but I’ve heard great things, so I’m going to try to read some of them. 🙂
Definitely some great books to reread! Anna was one of the funniest books I have ever read. I love the banners! I also loved Where She Went as the follow up for If I Stay and I would love to read Just One Day and The Sea of Tranquility just once. Great list!
I’m right there with ya when it comes to Gayle Forman. I really need to read Anna and the French Kiss!! What’s my problem???
Yay for this list! I really want to start rereading some of my books that I loved. I really used to read books over and over… now, not so much! I really need to finish the Heather Wells series; loved the first book!
Walk Two Moons! I almost forgot about that book! It was definitely a favorite of mine when I was really young. I don’t think I ever reread it, but I would if I did reread books. And the rest of your choices are pretty good too. I haven’t read all of them, but I fully support all of the contemporary!
Ahhhh, I love this topic. I also want to re-read Anna soon! Like you, I read it last year and fell head over heels in love with it. I’m definitely re-reading it in the next couple of months. Um, weeks. A perfect summer book, right? 🙂 I re-read If I Stay just last year, and I’m SO GLAD I did, because I liked but didn’t love it the first time, and fell IN LOVE with it upon re-read. And Where She Went was just… even better. Also, confession: I loved Just One Day so much that I have already read it twice. I just couldn’t stop myself! I’m saving my next re-read for when Just One Year comes out but when that happens I will just lock myself in my room and read and CRY. Sounds like fun, right? ANYWAY, I loved your list and especially the way you formatted it! So pretty! Sorry for the incoherent comment. I rock at those.
I have read none of those books, but I want to read many of them such as Stephene Perkins and Gayle Forman.
OMGAH…WHERE SHE WENT! ALL THE FEELS! I reread books pretty often via audiobooks, and just this year I’ve reread two in print on impulse, which NEVER happens! (The two were The Fault in Our Stars and Succubus Blues by Richelle Mead)
Great post! I’ve re-read Anna twice already and have re-read Size 12, like, 5 times. I keep meaning to pick up Ready Player One. Good to know it’s so good it’s worth re-reading!
Definitely down for a reread! Good idea 🙂 I need to get Ready Player One – your recommendations never steer me wrong.
I loved If I Stay and Where She Went, and I would love to reread those books. I still need to read Just One Day, and I don’t know what’s stopping me! I definitely want to check out Ready Player One too, a lot of people have given it really positive reviews, and they’ve gotten me curious, haha.
I’m excited because I recently got Just One Day to read for the first time! I also love rereading Meg Cabot’s books, they’re always so funny and adorable! 🙂 I chose Top Ten Favorite Quotes from Books: http://aliceinreaderland.com/2013/04/15/quotes/

I picked the same topic! If I Stay is also on my list because I read it in 2011, and I haven’t read Where She Went yet. Glad to know you’d like to reread Sweet Evil and Delirium. I recently bought both of them but haven’t read them yet. Sounds like they’re good!
I need to read Ready Player One. It totally sounds like my kind of book! I love this list and I’ve read so many of the books that are on it! Way to rewind as well!
My TTT
I just picked up ‘Ready Player One’ from the library without really knowing anything about it, so I’m glad to see it here!
Hope you enjoy it!!! I thought it was just so much fun 🙂
Walk Two Moons is, indeed, amazing. I love many of your choices there but Walk Two Moons has been a book I have held near and dear for quite a long time. I remember it in grade school, and just always thinking about it and bringing it up when I can. It always deserves a re-read after a few years, with a box of tissues because I cry so hard at the end every time. EVERYTIME.
THANK YOU FOR THIS COMMENT. I want to go home and re-read Walk Two Moons RIGHT. NOW. I may put down everything and go read it. Seriously. I haven’t read it since I was in grade school and I’ve always wanted to re-read it. Then I found a copy at a used book store and knew I needed to buy it. I want the feelings all over again!!! <333
Gosh, I really need to read If I Stay. If that book is what made you fall in love with contemporary YA, then maybe that is what I need, too! So far I haven’t been interested in much contemporary, but that book is still pretty high on my list. I’m also really excited to listen to Ready Player One on audio! I’ve heard so many great things about it. And one of my favorite things about audiobooks is that I can reread (okay, re-listen) the same ones over and over and it’s always enjoyable. 🙂
Oh, you should TOTALLY get Ready Player One on audio! the book itself is great but Wil Wheaton narrating it adds an extra layer of awesome 🙂
I actually wasn’t big on contemp until I started with If I Stay! If you pick it up, I hope you enjoy it!!!
I feel the same way — I’m too busy reading new books to re-read old ones. But there are definitely a bunch that I want to re-read, including the whole Harry Potter series. One day, I really will get to it!
I can’t tell you how many times I reread the Harry Potter series! Before I started blogging (okay, and basically half of childhood and most of high school), those were really the only books I kept to own so when I didn’t have anything to read, I ALWAYS went back to them. I would love to reread them again! They’ll always hold a special place in my heart 🙂
Fun topic! When I’m in a reading slump sometimes the only way out is to read a favorite book. And Anna is one I’ve reread once or twice 🙂 I loved Sea of Tranquility and think I’ll “re-read” when the audiobook comes out.
And yes I’m on board with a Forman read-a-thon. Great idea!
Ohhhhh that’s a good idea!! I will have to find the audiobook when it comes out. I would love to listen to it! I just get scared that the narrators won’t do it justice. I guess I’ll have to see who they are 🙂
I definitely need to reread Anna soon! It’s my #1 choice!
I love Meg Cabot’s Heather Wells series too! I haven’t read the most recent one, but it is on my To Be Read Soon list. I also need to re-read Sweet Evil before Sweet Peril comes out next week and definitely Anna & the French Kiss. Awesome list!
I know, there’s no way I’ll have time to re-read Sweet Evil before Sweet Peril… Maybe I’ll save them both for rereads for book three 🙂
Thanks for stopping by today!!!
I’ve read Anna and If I Stay so many times, but for those I just don’t think once was enough. I really want to re-read Where She Went though.

Absolutely!! These need a little bit more love!!
Thanks so much for stopping by my TTT this week! 🙂
Ahaha I love how you and Jamie both have If I stay on your list but under different topics. I have both If I stay and Where She Went sitting on my desk, but I’m terrified to read them because my expectations are so high at this point. I don’t want to be disappointed.
I’ve heard really great things about Anna and the French Kiss, but I’m not sure if I’ll enjoy it. My friends who read it did enjoy it though!
Great List 🙂
I know, that’s always a concern! I was fortunate enough to read them when I barely knew anything about them so it was easy to fall in love. I get scared when books have so much hype around them. Hope you’re still able to enjoy!
Great list! I just saw Ready Player One on someone else’s list and have never heard of it before but am now intrigued. Still haven’t read the new Gayle Forman – maybe I will crack and buy it to read this weekend since everyone seems to love it so much.
Ohhh you should definitely read Ready Player One!! And Just One Day. You know what, go read books that have “One” in the title and you’re all set 😉
Great choices! I agree with the Gayle Foreman choices – except I haven’t read “Just One Day” yet – I need to read it.. not sure why i’m procrastinating – I loved the other two so much! Also agree on the Delirium Front – Was so excited to read Requiem and the ending left me wanting much more. I haven’t read anything by Stephanie Perkins yet – excited to read Anna and The French Kiss (next on my list) – i have heard great things about her writing! And Have never heard about Sweet Evil – excited to check this out.. Have to admit my first fangirl moment was Edward Cullen (sigh) until I read Delirium and met Alex (double sigh).. Great list all together!
Oh I hope you loooove Just One Day! It was so beautiful in similar but very different ways!
Anna and the French Kiss is another favorite! I just related to it so well.
Thanks for stopping by my TTT! 🙂
Fantastic topic! I have to say, I want to read a lot of these books for the first time. I hope that you get round to reading them!
Is it horrible that I haven’t read ANY of these?! I swear I hear so many great things about each of these books but before becoming a book blogger a month ago I had no idea they existed. I definitely need to check some of these out, just to see if they give me the feels like they did everyone else! Great list 🙂
There are a number of your books listed that I want to read for a first time, let alone rereads!
I like the topic you picked!
My TTT: My Bookish Pet Peeves
Perkins would make beautiful rereads. I need to get off my duff and read Foreman. If you need a 3rd or 4th person to head up a Forman read, I’m in.
