My Latest Bookish Addiction [7] – Bookish Tote Bags

MLBA

In keeping with the theme of my blog, I decided to start bringing you updates of the newest and greatest bookish addictions in my life so I can share with you some awesomely bookish things or discuss if maybe we share the same bookish loves. It seemed like a great way to get a little discussion going in a very relaxed way.

This Edition’s Bookish Addiction? Bookish bags!

I. Love. Bookish totes. Especially after BEA this year, I’ve amassed quite a decent collection! Like everything else in my blog life, Bundles of Books — the used book store in Glen Ellyn — started this bookish habit. Every time you buy a bundle of books (har har), you get a free tote bag. They had a map pinned on the wall behind the counter and each customer who came in could say where they had brought “Bob” (Bundles of Books). There was a US map and even a world map with a surprising amount of push pins!

Naturally, I ended up with… at least four “Bob” totes. Then Kristina from Gone Pecan got me a sweet “Talk Nerdy to Me” tote for Christmas last year! And then… well… BEA happened. FREE TOTES GALORE. Some were simple, some were adorable (Quirk Books!), some were downright HANDY (Putnam Anniversary tote). And I may or may not have saved my little bag from The Strand because I’m touristy and nostalgic like that. It’s not a tote but hey, it’s a bookish bag. I’m counting it!

Somehow my bookish addictions have extended to bookish totes! I don’t rotate them as much as I’d like because you have NO IDEA how handy that Putnam bag is. It’s huge and SO sturdy.

Do you have any favorite bookish totes? Did you get them from anywhere special? I’d love to hear what people’s favorite book bags are!

My bag issues are almost as bad as my book ones. haha. I have SO many bags and I’ve tried so so so hard to pass them on and give them away to people and it works! But. eeee. Totes are so pretty and I always want more. If you are bored at work one day you should check out Modcloth and look at their totes. So cute!

I love the Talk Nerdy to Me tote! The tote I love it from Barnes and Noble. It’s made of tweed and it’s super sturdy, plus is has lots of space and pockets. I love it! I found a couple other ones I’d love to have, too. I’ll have to find more awesome totes for the books I love 🙂

I love bookish tote bags! That Quirk one is super adorable! I’ve always had my eye on The Hobbit one that they sell at Barnes & Noble…I should really just buy it!

OMG I love your collection of bookish tote bags! Especially the ‘Talk nerdy to me’ and ‘Eat sleep read’ bags! I’m actually a bag junkie (I love satchels and rucksacks) and I’m totally face-palming myself because I never thought to collect cool bookish tote bags! I only have two, currently- one says ‘So many books, so little time’ and the other was the one I got from the Manila International Book Fair here! I’ll definitely be on the lookout for some more totes! Awesome post, Brittany! 🙂

Although I love to read, this post has made me realize that I do not have a book totes! I have bags showcasing my love of knitting and bags showcasing my love of games, but no book bags! I think I know what I need to do today.

I love bags in general. But book bags make me squee. 😛 I have a fierce reads one that my son keeps trying to steal because it’s red & black. I also have a Harlequin one I got at a signing and use it for day trips because it’s the perfect size to carry the family’s stuff.
