Welcome back to BOOK AND A BEVERAGE!
In case you don’t know the deal about Book and a Beverage, it’s a very simple yet fun feature: We read books, we drink beverages, we take pictures of them and then I share your photos and a little about you to the blogging world!
Give a big welcome to Stormy from Book.Blog.Bake.!
Name & Blog Name: Stormy at Book. Blog. Bake.
Tell us a little about your blog! Book.Blog.Bake. started in December 2012 as a baking and book blog. Since then, its become pretty much a book-only blog with very, very VERY occasional sweet sides. I write more discussion and features than reviews and am known to have a thing for time travel.
What’s been your favorite post you’ve written so far? (Link us up!) It was a really emotional post, but back when there was some book banning controversy, I wrote my What Books Taught Me Post. I didn’t want to add to the arguments going in the blogosphere — there are those who are much better suited to debate than I am. I just wanted to shine some light on WHY books are so important to me, and I had to dig down for some really personal things. I cried while writing AND every time I read it, and I think it’s my best/favorite for that reason.
Got anything special coming up we should know about? Not anything of my own, but I’m participating in both Horror October & Sci-Fi November, so posts on those genres will be up on the month throughout the next few months.
Whatcha reading? The River of No Return by Bee Ridgeway
Where did it come from? (Library, purchased, publisher, etc) Library
Any special reason you chose to feature this book? Mostly because it’s due back at the library soon. Eep! But also because it’s a time travel book.
What’s important that we should know about this book? Would you recommend it? I’m only 50 pages in, but so far I’d recommend it!
Whatcha drinking? Coffee
What’s your favorite thing to drink while reading? In the mornings, COFFEE all the way. I have such a love for coffee that it’s a bit sad (think Lorelei Gilmore). In the evenings, I love mint green tea.
Favorite beverage of all time. Go! I really love my caffeine, so it’s hard for me to choose between coffee and green tea. But in the end. . . coffee.
What are your top three books you would recommend to other people? For a classic: Jane Eyre. For character-driven YA: Aristotle & Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe. For a fun YA read: Smart Girls Get What They Want by Sarah Strohmeyer
What’s your proudest blogging/reading/writing moment? It’s not a specific moment, but I think sticking with my blog has been something I’m really proud of. I’m the type of person who likes to be really creative and start new projects, but I’m not always the best about following through. Getting to that 6 month mark and realizing I still enjoyed blogging & was committed to it was definitely a proud moment for me!
Anything else you’d like to share? JI do host a Book Blogging PenPal exchange each month, if that’s your kind of thing! October sign-ups are currently open.
Thanks, Stormy! It was a pleasure hosting you on Book and a Beverage!
Definitely go check out Stormy’s blog if you aren’t familiar with it (and even if you are)! I love reading it and I think we have pretty similar views on a lot of books! I’ve also had my eye on that book for a long time so I can’t wait to see your review!

I love Stormy! I get really excited when I know who the person is that you are interviewing!! Love learning more about other bloggers that I follow.
It is always a bonus to find fellow coffee addicts. <3
Also, love that she mentioned Lorelei Gilmore!!
The color coordination – planned or not – worked perfectly. And this book has been on my TBR list for months!
I second keeping up with a project! I definitely struggle with keeping up with projects, especially when they are just for me.
Yay! I love getting to know more about my favorite bloggers. I’m also a big fan of coffee. And I can totally relate to starting all kinds of new projects and not being able to finish them all. Congrats on sticking with your blog for so long, Stormy! 🙂
Thanks for hosting me Brittany!
And I would like to officially go on record and state that I did not *plan* to color-coordinate my coffee mug and the book cover. . . but it sort of makes me secretly happy that it worked out that way.
