Welcome to our second annual FORTNIGHT OF FRIGHT event!
October 17th – October 31st, 2013
Last year, Alyssa (Books Take You Places) and I really bonded over our mutual love of Halloween and came up with the idea for A FORTNIGHT OF FRIGHT: a two-week long event celebrating everything Halloween and horror-related! We decided to bring it back again this year and we have a TON of fun Halloween things planned for you!
Today we have a wonderful guest review from Celine at Nyx Book Reviews! Today Celine is sharing with us one of her favorite reads for the Halloween season! Take it away, Celine!
Dracula was one of the most influential vampire stories ever, and who better than the master of horror Stephen King to make a modern retelling? ‘Salem’s Lot starts slow, but once you’re hooked you probably won’t be reading this book before sleep. Even though the book is about six-hundred pages, when I was finished I wanted more. ‘Salem’s Lot is one of the best vampire books I ever read. If you’re a fan of Dracula, read this.
Title: Salem’s Lot
Author: Stephen King
First Published: 1975
Celine’s Review: Salem’s Lot by Stephen King – Review
Goodreads Blurb: “Something strange is going on in Jerusalem’s Lot … but no one dares to talk about it. By day, ‘Salem’s Lot is a typical modest New England town; but when the sun goes down, evil roams the earth. The devilishly sweet insistent laughter of a child can be heard echoing through the fields, and the presence of silent looming spirits can be felt lurking right outside your window. Stephen King brings his gruesome imagination to life in this tale of spine tingling horror.”
