Top Ten Tuesday – December 10, 2013: Top Ten Books On My Winter TBR

TTT

It’s Top Ten Tuesday, hosted by the wonderful blog at The Broke and the Bookish! This week’s topic:  Top Ten Books On My Winter TBR

ISB

Into the Still Blue (Under the Never Sky #3) – Veronica Rossi
I actually just started reading the final book in this exciting trilogy — which I think has only gotten better over time! I’m already in love with Veronica Rossi’s writing all over again and I’m so excited to read this book and… you know, actually finish a series as sad as I will be to see it “go”!

HDC

Her Dark Curiosity (The Madman’s Daughter #2) – Megan Shepherd
I enjoyed book one even though I didn’t know much about the original inspiration, The Island of Dr. Moreau. Jekyll & Hyde being the inspiration for this one? Sign me up!

CB

Cruel Beauty – Rosamund Hodge
Graceling meets Beauty and the Beast. HOW CAN I NOT? Actually, why haven’t I even started this…?

RR

Red Rising (Red Rising Trilogy #1) – Pierce Brown
I actually picked this one up as a suggestion from Netgalley and it sounds super exciting! It’s a new dystopian involving a color-caste society and it sounds super interesting and really exciting!

avalon

Avalon (Avalon #1) – Mindee Arnett
I’ve actually been getting into a bit of sci-fi lately and this sounds like a really thrilling and fascinating adventure! Part science-fiction, part dystopian, it sounds like it’s right up my alley!

GR

Going Rogue (Also Known As #2) – Robin Benway
I absolutely adored Also Known As and I’m so excited to read a sequel! And I’m glad that Robin Benway decided to write a sequel haha!

bsj

Being Sloane Jacobs – Lauren Morrill
Meant to Be was one of my favorite reads of 2012 — or really, just one of my favorite reads — so I am so excited to read Lauren Morrill’s second book!

bof

Better Off Friends – Elizabeth Eulberg
I read my first Elizabeth Eulberg book just a few months ago and I adored it! I’m so excited to read a new book from her coming out in February!

ss

Split Second (Pivot Point #2) – Kasie West
STILL excited to read this one. Highly anticipating its release!

whitespace

White Space (Dark Passages #1) – Ilsa J. Bick
Okay, this is another one that I don’t know how I haven’t read it yet because just READ THIS DESCRIPTION: “Ilsa Bick’s WHITE SPACE, pitched as The Matrix meets Inkheart, about a seventeen-year-old girl who jumps between the lines of books and into the white space where realities are created and destroyed – but who may herself be nothing more than a character written into being from an alternative universe.” UM YEAH. So excited! (Synopsis captured from Goodreads)

Those are the books I’m looking forward to this winter! Now, I know I say this every season but I’m really going to try to stay on top of new releases! Then I end up picking up whatever I want anyway, but still. So many exciting books!!!

There are a lot of awesome titles on this list! I’m certainly looking forward to reading Avalon (sci-fi, yes!), Going Rogue (I need more Roux in my life.), Being Sloane Jacobs (because it sounds adorable), Cruel Beauty (because I am OBSESSED with Beauty & the Beast), Better Off Friends (it sounds so fun!) and White Space (which sounds AMAZING). Happy reading!

I’m looking forward to many of these myself, most especially BEING SLOANE JACOBS. Cruel Beauty, Avalon, and Going Rogue are high up on my list as well.

I am both happy and nervous about Going Rogue. I was surprised when I heard there was a sequel to AKA because I liked where it wrapped up. But I love Robin Benway so I have faith. And I didn’t love Meant to Be or the one Elizabeth Eulberg novel I’ve read, but I am excited for Being Sloane Jacobs and Better Off Friends. The stories in those two sound more appealing to me. Fingers crossed!

What I am getting from this list is that I need to read Pivot Point already.

I keep seeing it EVERYWHERE and I’m kicking myself for not buying it for my Nook when they were running all of those deals. I feel even more inclined with Book 2 on its way.

    YAY winter reading beer yay

I’m super excited to read White Space! I read her other book Ashes (haven’t read the rest of this series though) and it was very good! Looking forward to some of these other titles too! 🙂

Cruel Beauty, Avalon, Being Sloane Jacobs, and Into the Still Blue are all on my list as well! I requested Red Rising from Netgalley but got denied. Boo. It sounds awesome though. I’ll definitely be checking out once it’s released. And White Space sounds amazing! I didn’t like her Ashes series, but the synopsis of this one just sounds way too good to pass up. Plus I think her Ashes series was more of a case of ‘it’s not you it’s me’. So hopefully I’ll enjoy White Space!

I’ve seen Cruel Beauty on a lot of lists, but it wasn’t until I read your blurb that I went and added it on Goodreads!

I’m also excited for Avalon and I just got my hands on Spy Society (the British title for AKA) and that one’s on my TTT list 🙂
