Book and a Beverage [36] – Heather from Turning Pages

Book and a Beverage

Welcome back to BOOK AND A BEVERAGE!

In case you don’t know the deal about Book and a Beverage, it’s a very simple yet fun feature: We read books, we drink beverages, we take pictures of them and then I share your photos and a little about you to the blogging world!

Give a big welcome to Heather from Turning Pages!

Name & Blog Name:  Heather, Turning Pages
Tell us a little about your blog! I started Turning Pages last January (1/25/13 to be exact) and then welcomed my cousin/best friend, Christie, to join me in April. We both share a love for reading and writing and what better way to share our love of books by sharing them with others.
And the name Turning Pages actually came from one of my favorite songs….Turning Pages by Sleeping at Last. Check it out. 🙂
What’s been your favorite post you’ve written so far? (Link us up!)  This is really hard for me! I am a huge fan of our FaceTime Friday feature, mostly because they are so fun to put together and give Christie and I a reason to FaceTime and catch up. My favorite would have to be the FTF in which we actually got to write the post together in person when I went to visit her. We discussed our viewing of City of Bones and shared lots of pictures from our visit.
Got anything special coming up we should know about? YES! We’ll be celebrating our 1 year blogaversary this January so watch out for a WEEK long celebration!

photo 1Whatcha reading? Being Sloane Jacobs by Lauren Morrill
Where did it come from? (Library, purchased, publisher, etc) The author!
Any special reason you chose to feature this book? I loved The Parent Trap when I was little and am fascinated with the whole “Prince & Pauper” storyline, so this book seemed like the perfect combination (somewhat) of both. Plus, you don’t get a lot of hockey and figure skating in YA fiction and I enjoy both sports. It’s been a fun, easy going read.
What’s important that we should know about this book? Would you recommend it? Being Sloane Jacobs hits shelves January 7, 2014! Check it out. I’ve really enjoyed it thus far!

photo 2Whatcha drinking? Peppermint hot chocolate. YUM!
What’s your favorite thing to drink while reading? Usually I am drinking water, since I carry it around with me everywhere. Occasionally it’ll be coffee, a soda, or beer or wine. On a cold evening like tonight, the peppermint hot chocolate is a must. 🙂
Favorite beverage of all time. Go! Oh gah…Dr. Pepper. I can’t go too long without it. So delicious.

What are your top three books you would recommend to other people? Where the Stars Still Shine – Trish Dollar, Clockwork Princess – Cassandra Clare, Where She Went – Gayle Forman
What’s your proudest blogging/reading/writing moment? Oh gosh, probably actually starting my blog. It had been something I had always wanted to do and it felt good to actually do it. It’s really been an amazing first year.
Anything else you’d like to share? [Nope!]

Thanks, Heather!! So much fun having you on Book and a Beverage and LOVE that you include Where She Went as one of your recommendations! It’s one of my absolute favorites of all time. Congrats on one year! Looking forward to your blogoversary celebration!!

I hope you enjoyed getting to know Heather! You can find out more about Heather at her blog, Turning Pages, on Twitter, Facebook, Goodreads, Pinterest, and Tumblr!
