Name & Blog Name:  Caroline @ The Attic
Tell us a little about your blog! I started blogging in July of 2011. Before then, I didn’t even know what a book blog was! I just loved to read. I started stumbling upon a few and figured, hey, I could do this. Since then my blog has gone through a lot. I recently moved to WordPress and starting blogging everyday, and I’m really enjoying it. I had a huge hiatus for half of 2013 so it’s nice to be back.
As far as reviews go, I read pretty much everything YA, but I tend to read a lot of dystopians, paranormal, horror–pretty much anything creepy and kind of messed up.

What’s been your favorite post you’ve written so far? (Link us up!)  Oh, that’s kind of difficult to answer. I don’t really have a favorite post, but I did have my 100th review go up recently (The Immortal Rules by Julie Kagawa) and I think it’s the longest review I’ve written. (A lot of my early reviews are ridiculously short.)
Got anything special coming up we should know about? Nothing that I know of right now! I’m pretty spontanious when it comes to special posts and giveaways and the like. So I guess you’ll just have to check often. 😉
I’ve been thinking about doing a Lord of the Rings read-along sometime down the road, since I haven’t read the books. I really just go where the mood takes me.

Whatcha reading? Asylum by Madeleine Roux
Where did it come from? (Library, purchased, publisher, etc) It was a Christmas gift from my mom!
Any special reason you chose to feature this book? As I mentioned before, I love reading creepy, messed up paranormal stuff. Not only does Asylum have actual found photographs from real asylums, but it’s so full of mystery. I seriously don’t know where the story is going! I’m also kind of obsessed with abandoned, haunted asylums. What can I say? My mom knows exactly what kind of gifts to get me.
What’s important that we should know about this book? Would you recommend it? Other than the fact that it’s awesome? Madeleine Roux does an excellent job crafting the perfect kind of eerie ambiance that the story requires. I would definitely recommend it.

Whatcha drinking? In this particular picture? Mint green tea.
What’s your favorite thing to drink while reading? Pretty much any kind of tea. Black, green, white, herbal–I love it all.
Favorite beverage of all time. Go! That’s kind of hard to answer… Right now I’m obsessed with this pure peppermint herbal tea. It’s perfect for winter.

What are your top three books you would recommend to other people? Only three? Haha, well, I guess I’ll have to narrow down my list a bit…
The three books I recommend, mainly to non-readers or those who don’t read YA, would be:
Divergent by Veronica Roth
The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer by Michelle Hodkin
Daughter of Smoke and Bone by Laini Taylor
Other than that, I tell people to read anything and everything by Libba Bray, John Green, and Maggie Stiefvater.
What’s your proudest blogging/reading/writing moment? My proudest reading/writing moment took place outside of the blogosphere and in my senior AP Literature class. We had to read The Fountainhead by Ayn Rand, and not only did I manage to get through the entire novel and really enjoy it, but I  entered my end of the year essay for the novel into the Ayn Rand Institute’s essay contest and ended up being a semi-finalist. It was the hardest I had ever worked on a paper, not to mention that Ayn Rand’s work is one heck of a challenge to tackle. It was really amazing to receive recognition for all the work I put into it.
Anything else you’d like to share? Thank you for having me! I love features like this. 🙂

Thanks, Caroline! I just started reading Days of Blood and Starlight so I LOVE your recommendation of Daughter of Smoke and Bone 😀
Your Ayn Rand story is awesome! That’s truly a lovely accomplishment and thank you for sharing it with us!

I hope you enjoyed getting to know Caroline! You can find out more about Caroline at her blog, The Attic, on Twitter, Facebook, and Goodreads!
