Recommendations for YA books with a male POV
I know that with my wedding coming up, taking on a time consuming project such as making a new guide/infographic is probably the last thing I should do… But lately feeling like I have so much to do has made me feel like I need to be productive and somehow reading just wasn’t do that for me so I took on a blog project instead! I have a ton of fun sharing my recommendations and making these graphics so a new “guide” seemed like the perfect project for a time like this!
I almost forgot that I wanted to make a “guide” to male POVs. I’ve actually touched on the topic a couple times on my blog with the Top Ten Tuesday topic “Top Ten Books I’d Recommend to Male Readers” as well as picking it for My Latest Bookish Addiction, but I thought it was time to finally put it into a nice, formal graphic for easy viewing!
Without further ado, here are my favorite YA books from a male POV (and then some)!

Sweet beans, this sure us cool ^^ I love this idea! And I loved most of these books too!!! 😀
cool infographic, I love reading Male POV’s so thanks for the reccomendations.
Thanks so much!! Hope you found a new, good read! 🙂 🙂
Love the infographic, Brittany! It’s super handy for someone who adores dual, male and mutiple POVs-My goodreads TBR just increased dramatically.
Thank you!
Thanks for sharing this list! I absolutely love male povs (my favorite being dual) and a lot of these are favorites of mine.
The Raven Boys, Just One Year, and Daughter of Smoke and Bones are the ones on your list that I haven’t read yet and really want to.
To start off, I have to reiterate how much I love these guides! They are one of my favorite blog features across all blogs! 🙂 And I really like Male POV so It’s no surprise that i’ve read a considerable number of these books (and loved most of them!) but I still have a few gaps to fill! The Lies of Locke Lamora and Mistborn are actually on my soon-TBR list because, as I mentioned in my last comment, I have promised myself that I would stop ignoring these books that I know I will love but de-prioritize because I generally don’t review them and they take up more time. I also just got Ready Player One on audio so that will happen at some point! And the sequels to some of these of course! Great guide (yet again!) I will definitely be using it as a resource!! 🙂
YOU ARE TOO SWEET. This comment totally made my day (and sorry it took me a couple days to reply!)
OMG I’m so excited for you to read Lies & Mistborn too!!! I can’t wait to hear what you think of them! RPO is fantasticcccc on audio too. I need to do an audio re-read! Usually when I’ve been re-reading lately, I pick a different format but I MUST listen to it again!
Thanks, Nicole! <333
I love that you made a graphic of this! I’m going to be using it for future reference for book recs! Thanks!
This is an excellent list and really great looking infographic! That’s some talent you have here 🙂 I’ll be sharing these recs. A lot of these are books that I’ve already read or have on my wishlist. Some are new to me and I’ll be looking into those as well. Thanks for taking the time to make this 🙂 Sometimes it is nice to get a male POV with so many female POV books out there.
Thank you SO much! I really appreciate it! So happy it helped you find some new books as well as reiterate ones on your wishlist already 😀
Thanks for sharing! This is great! I always struggle a little more in recommending books for guys than I do with girls because I usually prefer to read books from a female POV, so it’s great to have a guide/reminder of some great options. Two others that just occurred to me are the I Hunt Killers trilogy by Barry Lyga (Jasper Dent, the son of a serial killer, is the narrator), and for the male/female dual perspective, Trouble by Non Pratt—all great books!
I tend to forgo books with single male POVs. I know it’s silly, but I guess I can relate to the protagonist if it’s a girl since I’m a girl and all. However, the real strange part, when the book features alternating POVs and one of them is a guy, I’m not bothered at all. It doesn’t make any sense, but anyway. 😀
Is always love when you post these! They are so awesome and I totally reference them when giving out books recs. Its also so cool to have all these male povs listed in one place. I need to to check some of these out. Especially where she went. Just read if I stay a couple weeks ago and now I’m dying to read from Adams pov!!!
Thanks, Rebecca!!! 🙂 🙂
If I Stay was amazing but OMG WHERE SHE WENT. ADAM. I die. It’s still one of my favorites of ALL time. I loved WSW even more than IIF!
I love your graphics, they are the best! I liked this one a lot, how you divided them into alternating POV’s and Multiple POV’s I think that is very helpful.
I think it’s not as easy to find some good books from a male’s POV, so I think this is very helpful. Your are right. It is refreshing sometimes to read from a different perspective and mind set. Boys do think differently and it’s nice to be inside their heads for a change.
Some of the books here are already on my TBR so I think I should try and get to them ASAP.
Thank you!
Thanks, Valeria! I agree! Sometimes it’s so refreshing to have that different POV!! 🙂
So many amazing book on this list, I’ve gotta say, I’ve picked up a few recommendations. Like Kritika above, I also forgot some of these were written from male PoV!
Thanks, Samantha!! 😀
GREAT, I sometimes really like to read books with a male POV. I also have another one: Rick Riordan – Percy Jackson series 🙂 I want to read The maze runner before I see the movie and I also need Vicious. The lies of Locke Lamora is high on my wish list and I hope to read Under the never sky soon. Thanks for all the recommendations 😀
Oh yes!!! I’ve only read The Red Pyramid but I really enjoyed it! He should definitely be on the list as well! 🙂
I love the infographic! I’ve read half of these books, and for a lot of them I didn’t really make a note of the male POV. It’s fun to look at this and go “Oh yeah, that guy!”
Thanks so much!!! 🙂
