Welcome back to BOOK AND A BEVERAGE!
In case you don’t know the deal about Book and a Beverage, it’s a very simple yet fun feature: We read books, we drink beverages, we take pictures of them and then I share your photos and a little about you to the blogging world!
Give a big welcome to Lucy from The Reading Date!
Name & Blog Name: Lucy @ The Reading Date
Tell us a little about your blog! The Reading Date has been around for four years and I blog about books (mainly audiobooks!) movies and TV.
What’s been your favorite post you’ve written so far? (Link us up!) One of the books that got me into YA books is If I Stay, and I enjoyed re-reading it earlier this year and blogging about it for the first time. I also had fun blogging about my favorite TV shows for Top Ten Tuesday.
Got anything special coming up we should know about? I’ve been having a lot of fun reading and chatting about books with the YA Diversity Book Club! We have monthly book features and I’m looking forward to sharing my favorite diverse titles of the year in December. Plus I’m looking forward to sharing my favorite holiday movies with The Movie Date.
Whatcha reading? Pointe by Brandy Colbert.
Where did it come from? (Library, purchased, publisher, etc) Purchased, and it’s signed!
Any special reason you chose to feature this book? Pointe is my current read, and it’s been featured on many best-of YA lists.
What’s important that we should know about this book? Would you recommend it? This debut is a character-driven novel that features a POC protagonist that’s set in the world of dance. Contemporary YA fans should read this gripping book pronto!
Whatcha drinking? Iced Tea – specifically Trader Joe’s Kettle Brewed unsweetened Green & White Tea. It’s my favorite!
What’s your favorite thing to drink while reading? Could be anything- tea, soda, or an ice-cold beer depending on my mood.
Favorite beverage of all time. Go! That would have to be tea. I love chai tea in the morning and transition to iced tea in the afternoon.
Thanks, Lucy! If I Stay was a book that really got me into YA too. It’s so wonderful to see that connection through the movie now! I’ve also heard SO many good things about Pointe! That one is on my wishlist this Christmas! 🙂
I hope you enjoyed getting to know the Lucy! Connect with her at the links below!

I loved If I Stay too and blogging about tv shows is fun.
I’ve heard of Pointe before, it sounds great.
Iced tea’s the best. Chai’s my favorite, hot and cold. 🙂 I really like this feature.
The iced tea looks so good! I now must go and find some. YUM!
And that book is excellent. Really hit on all the points on why it is a must read!
I’m so excited to read it! I’ve heard nothing but good things.
Thanks for having me today, Brittany! And I think you’ll really like Pointe 🙂
Thanks again, Lucy! I definitely want to read Pointe in 2015!
WooHoo! Two of my favorite book bloggers in one post! 🙂
Awww, thanks, Debbi 😀
