Welcome back to BOOK AND A BEVERAGE!
In case you don’t know the deal about Book and a Beverage, it’s a very simple yet fun feature: We read books, we drink beverages, we take pictures of them and then I share your photos and a little about you to the blogging world!
Give a big welcome to Celine from Nyx Book Reviews!
Name & Blog Name: Celine from Nyx Book Reviews
Tell us a little about your blog! I’ve been blogging since 2010, when I found out about the bookish community through Goodreads. Throughout the years my blog has been constantly evolving and changing, but the essence of my blog is book reviews about fantasy, paranormal and science-fiction novels, both YA and adult.
What’s been your favorite post you’ve written so far? (Link us up!) Ack, that’s so hard! I’ve posted over 950 posts on my blog, choosing just one is impossible! One post that I loved is actually a guest post by Rin Chupeco, which has a ghost story she wrote for my Halloween feature. It’s so creepy and awesome!
Got anything special coming up we should know about? I don’t have any features coming up, but I do have tons of reviews just waiting to be posted in the new year!
Whatcha reading? Alien Tango by Gini Koch!
Where did it come from? (Library, purchased, publisher, etc) I bought it. The covers of this series are so stunning, I just had to buy them.
Any special reason you chose to feature this book? It’s pretty, it’s funny, and not all that many people know of the series.
What’s important that we should know about this book? Would you recommend it? The Kitty Katt books are kind of a science-fiction urban-fantasy mix ups. Aliens are on earth, and they are all cover-model gorgeous. These aliens protect us from the bad aliens that want to take over earth — and Kitty is caught between it all! They’re fast paced and humour-filled, and I always recommend them to people that want light science-fiction. Whatcha drinking? Earl Grey tea from my favourite mug.
What’s your favorite thing to drink while reading? In winter, definitely tea, hot chocolate or coffee. I love having something warm in my hands when I read. In summer I usually drink water or something fizzy to keep from overheating when reading outside.
Favorite beverage of all time. Go! A cinnamon latte with whipped cream. Hmmmmmm.
What are your top three books you would recommend to other people? The books I recommend the most are Rampant by Diana Peterfreund (killer unicorns!!), Feed by Mira Grant (best zombie book I have ever read), and (Don’t You) Forget About Me by Kate Karyus Quinn (the weirdest and awesomest book I read this year). I would recommend Harry Potter too, but everyone I know has already read them.
What’s your proudest blogging/reading/writing moment? My proudest reading moment was when I finished It by Stephen King. That monster is about 1300 pages and it took me well over a month to read, in a time where I read way less than I do now. My proudest writing moment was when I finished my first story and let my family members read it. My proudest blogging moment was when I reached 100 followers on GFC. I was baffled that there were people interested in what I had to say, and that they had taken the time to click follow.
Anything else you’d like to share? A huge thank you to Brittany for having me, and Merry Christmas to everyone! 😀
Thanks, Celine! Merry Christmas to you too!
The Kitty Kat books sound like a lot of fun! I may have to check those out!! 🙂 Omg, I have heard so much about these killer unicorns but haven’t read any of Diana’s books yet! Clearly, I must!
