Book and a Beverage [96] – Leah from Bookish Minion

Book and a Beverage

Welcome back to BOOK AND A BEVERAGE!

In case you don’t know the deal about Book and a Beverage, it’s a very simple yet fun feature: We read books, we drink beverages, we take pictures of them and then I share your photos and a little about you to the blogging world!

Give a big welcome to Leah from Bookish Minion!

Book 1

Name & Blog Name: Hey! I am Leah and I blog at BookishMinion
Tell us a little about your blog! I started blogging at the end of 2013 but did it sporadically through 2014. I blog about the books I read which means that you will get a wide variety of genres represented. I am getting more and more excited about blogging though, I now find it easier to put my thoughts across than when I started out.
What’s been your favorite post you’ve written so far? (Link us up!) Definitely has to be my very first post. I am sentimental.
Got anything special coming up we should know about? Well, this February has been so hectic I could not blog as I would have liked so I am going to make it up by making sure I have at least one post every week this month!

book

Whatcha reading? Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban
BeverageWhere did it come from? (Library, purchased, publisher, etc) A friend was kind enough to lend me her copy.
Any special reason you chose to feature this book? I just love the book.
What’s important that we should know about this book? Would you recommend it? I am reading the entire series again…and in the right order. It is so exciting to see the little crumbs thrown here and there by J.K. Rowling. Yes, I would definitely recommend it.

beverageWhatcha drinking? I am having iced coffee. (Just so you are prepared, coffee will feature a lot in this partJ).
What’s your favorite thing to drink while reading? While I am at home, I drink coffee or water. Yoghurt comes in a very close second. However, when I am not at home, I will probably have water or soda
Favorite beverage of all time. Go! Can you hazard a guess?? Yes…Coffee!

bonus

What are your top three books you would recommend to other people? You mean other than A Song of Ice and Fire and Harry Potter, right ;)? Well, I absolutely love travel books by Bill Bryson. He is absolutely hilarious and has the most stimulating and outrageous encounters while travelling. I would also recommend the Hannibal series by Thomas Harris for anyone who wants to be thrilled. I enjoyed reading Better by Atul Gawande, his stories are based in the medical world but have a profound impact on your day to day life choices. I can’t stop without an honorable mention to my favorite authors Douglas Adams and Ngugi wa Thiong’o!
What’s your proudest blogging/reading/writing moment? My very first post was a very proud moment for me. It kicked my zeal for reading into overdrive. The first time one of my friends read a book or a book in a genre that was new to them based on a review I did was also pretty amazing.
Anything else you’d like to share? Well, check out my blog! Thank you Brittany for featuring me 🙂

Thanks, Leah! HOORAY for Harry Potter!! I actually JUST finished my series re-read of Harry Potter for the first time in years and it was SO much fun!
Hey, can you never have too much coffee, right? (I guess you can, but I love copious amounts!)

Leah, I absolutely love Bill Bryson’s travel books. He is so hilarious. Books that make me laugh out loud in public places are so few and far between and every one of his makes me do this. I hope he has another one coming out soon. My favorite is In A Sunburnt Country
