Welcome back to BOOK AND A BEVERAGE!
In case you don’t know the deal about Book and a Beverage, it’s a very simple yet fun feature: We read books, we drink beverages, we take pictures of them and then I share your photos and a little about you to the blogging world!
Give a big welcome to Maggie from The Novel Orange!
Name & Blog Name: Hey, y’all! I’m Maggie Seagraves, curator of The Novel Orange!
Tell us a little about your blog! At The Novel Orange, I typically focus on books, books, and more books! I love to write reviews and to participate in bookish memes on occasion. I also write a little about my personal life and writing in general.
I must admit that I am obsessed with blog swaps, hence my posting constantly about them! I’m hoping to expand my blogging horizons in 2016! ☺
What’s been your favorite post you’ve written so far? (Link us up!) I’m proud of an essay I wrote and entered in an online contest, Silver Linings. Although I didn’t win the competition, just the act of writing the essay, regarding the death of a close friend due to an accidental overdose, was very therapeutic.
Got anything special coming up we should know about? My first ever original blog feature is in its infancy: The Challenge Challenge, which entails challenging oneself to complete X number of reading and/or blogging challenges throughout the year, went live last month!
I always find myself signing up to participate in tons of challenges each year and decided to create a way to keep up with them all and encourage myself to get them finished, thus the birth of The Challenge Challenge!
Whatcha reading? Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice
Where did it come from? (Library, purchased, publisher, etc): I purchased Austen’s classic from my all-time favorite online retailer…AMAZON!
Any special reason you chose to feature this book? Pride and Prejudice has been on my TBR list for years! While it’s my first foray into reading Austen’s work, I’ve always wanted to read all of her novels. I was truly inspired to read all things Austen by my #OTSPSecretSister, who is an Austen fiend! ☺
What’s important that we should know about this book? Would you recommend it? All I can say is: WOW! I am adoring this classic beyond words; I would absolutely recommend this timeless love story to anyone who is a fan of the classics!
Whatcha drinking? At the moment I’m drinking my favorite Coke (down South, everything is a Coke), Pepsi! ☺
What’s your favorite thing to drink while reading? My typical go-to reading beverage is totally piping hot coffee! I am coffee and mug obsessed! However, today I was in the mood for, you guessed it, a Coke (Pepsi!)!
Favorite beverage of all time. Go! My favorite drink of all time has got to be milk! LOL! There is nothing like milk and cookies or taking a big swig of a full glass after a giant meal! ☺
What are your top three books you would recommend to other people? Anna Karenina by Leo Tolstoy (my all-time favorite), Of Mice and Men by John Steinbeck (a tearjerker that is close to my heart), The Good Earth by Pearl S. Buck (an old favorite I never dreamed I’d love so much)
What’s your proudest blogging/reading/writing moment? Blogging: Having the courage to start a blog in the first place and branching out and meeting such amazing fellow bookish bloggers!
Reading: That time I read Jurassic Park in fifth grade after seeing the movie
Writing: My personal Cats series, for which I have written installments since I was a fourth grader! Also, journaling daily in my five-year memory book!
Anything else you’d like to share? Thank you SO much for hosting me, Brittany! It’s been a blast booking and beveraging it with you and your readers! ☺
Thanks, Maggie! So much fun to host you today! I always love seeing how different people’s answers can be and I love learning new things about blogger friends!
