Welcome back to BOOK AND A BEVERAGE!
In case you don’t know the deal about Book and a Beverage, it’s a very simple yet fun feature: We read books, we drink beverages, we take pictures of them and then I share your photos and a little about you to the blogging world!
Give a big welcome to Amy from Read A Latte!
Name & Blog Name: Amy Sachs from Read a Latte!
Tell us a little about your blog! I started Read a Latte in 2012 for a class project, and completely hated it! I never thought I’d see the day that I’d love it enough to make it a full time hobby. But going on four years later, here I still am! I picked the name because I’m completely addicted to coffee, so much so that the Starbucks by my house never has to ask what I’m having. Combining my book and coffee addictions just made sense, and Read a Latte was born!
What’s been your favorite post you’ve written so far? (Link us up!) Picking a favorite is so hard! Recently I really liked a new feature I started: Read, Watch, Listen. I love combining the different things I’m enjoying, and it seemed to register with other bloggers too, which is always fun! I’ve only done one of them so far, but have a lot of plans for future posts!
Got anything special coming up we should know about? Actually yes! I have an interview with the author of one of my favorite books, You, Caroline Kepnes! The sequel to You, Hidden Bodies, is coming out in February, so I’m planning on posting that around the release date on the 23rd!
Whatcha reading? I just started Don’t You Cry by Mary Kubica, another one of my favorite writers! I’ve been super into thrillers this winter, so this is perfect right now!
Where did it come from? (Library, purchased, publisher, etc): From the publisher. I rarely ask for ARCs, but with Mary Kubica, I couldn’t resist!
Any special reason you chose to feature this book? No special reason, aside from my love of the author!
What’s important that we should know about this book? Would you recommend it? It’s out in May, and it’s Mary Kubica’s third novel. If you’re looking for a good thriller, The Good Girl and Pretty Baby are her first two books, and they’re just as good!
Whatcha drinking? Jade Mint Citrus Tea from Starbucks. Totally going against my usual coffee addiction, but the smell alone is enough to make you want more.
What’s your favorite thing to drink while reading? Iced coffee — all year, no matter the season!
Favorite beverage of all time. Go! Caramel iced coffee with soy milk! Every time. The addiction is serious, but as long as I admit it, it’s fine, right? Right.
What are your top three books you would recommend to other people? The Goldfinch by Donna Tartt for sure, You by Caroline Kepnes, and The Bone Clocks by David Mitchell. Honestly, my friends and family are probably so tired of hearing me preach about these books.
What’s your proudest blogging/reading/writing moment? I also write about books for Bustle, and one of my recent articles about bookish podcasts, was mentioned by Rider Strong (Shawn Hunter from Boy Meets World) on Twitter a few weeks ago! I’m still not over it.
Anything else you’d like to share? I think that’s it! Thanks for hosting and having me! 🙂
Thanks, Amy! I cannot WAIT to read books by Mary Kubica and Caroline Kepnes!! I always need more thrillers in my life!
And let’s all stop to fangirl taht Shawn Hunter (okay, Rider Strong) mentioned your article! Eeee!
