TOP TEN TUESDAY
March 29, 2016

It’s Top Ten Tuesday, hosted by the wonderful blog at The Broke and the Bookish! This week’s topic was Ten of the Best Books I’ve Read Recently

I love these kinds of topics because I’m always anxious to recommend some good books and it’s great to be able to share what I’ve read recently all in one place! My recent favorite reads are a bit of a mix of old and new and that makes it even better!

REBEL OF THE SANDS by Alwyn Hamilton | This book was fantastic!! There were so many good things going on — characters, plot, world-building, friendships, swoons. I absolutely loved it.

ANNA AND THE FRENCH KISS by Stephanie Perkins | This was a re-read (naturally) and I’m still so in love with this book! ANNA is still one of my all-time favorite contemporary books.

NO MORE CONFESSIONS by Louise Rozett | Louise Rozett’s books are so under the radar but books you definitely need to check out if you love realistic fiction! The relationships and characters are amazing.

THE CROWN’S GAME by Evelyn Skye | I had so much fun reading THE CROWN’S GAME! I’m so glad I read it early and can’t wait to celebrate its release! (Also, I need more books, please.)

BLUE LILY, LILY BLUE by Maggie Stiefvater | This was a re-read as well, in preparation for THE RAVEN KING. Whew boy, all those feels just came flooding back. I cannot wait for the last book! (But I’m also terrified.)

WITH MALICE by Eileen Cook | WITH MALICE was a great thriller with a psychological twist. I loved the unreliable narrator (she has lost a piece of her memory) and it was a great read overall!

26 KISSES by Anna Michels | Oh, this book was so cute. Perfect for summer, perfect for contemporary readers, and just what I needed!

STARS ABOVE by Marissa Meyer| Naturally I’m in love with STARS ABOVE. I always need more Lunar Chronicles in my life and that epilogue! It made me soar.

THE WINNER’S KISS by Marie Rutkoski | This series was just so, so well-done. I’m so pleased with the ending and how the characters grew separately as well as together. Marie Rutkoski did an amazing job and THE WINNER’S KISS wraps up with excitement and satisfaction.

THE LOVE THAT SPLIT THE WORLD by Emily Henry | I thought this book was just beautiful and I’m such a sucker for parallel universes. Add in some WALK TWO MOONS feels and I’m all in.

What are some of your favorite recent reads? What do I NEED to pick up next??

I have three on your list as upcoming reads, 26 Kisses, The Crown’s Game and The Love That Split the World, so I’m glad to hear they are good. I have seen Blue Lily on a lot of lists today, but have not read any in the series as I didn’t like her Wolves series. I think it is time to check them out. Great list!

I’ve been seeing The Love That Split the World on almost EVERYONE’S blog today!! Even more reason why I need to get it ASAP. I really loved Anna and the French Kiss, too!

I can’t wait to read Rebel of the Sands, especially after seeing it on so many 5 star lists today! And I might have to check out With Malice, as well, because it looks quite interesting!

    Great list! 🙂

I’ve seen Rebel of the Sands on SO many lists this week, I can’t wait to read it! And you know I adore Anna and BLLB (just finished TRB this morning, moving on to TDT!). 26 Kisses sounds really cute and I’m excited to catch up with the Winner’s series (and Stars Above!). Oh gosh, a few of my favorites this year have been My Lady Jane (SO much fun and really good for Princess Bride fans! Why do I think you’re a PB fan? Haha), The Only Thing Worse Than Me Is You, Starflight, and The Score. It’s been a good reading year so far 🙂

You listed quite a few books that are on my TBR/actual bookshelf, so I’m really excited to get to them. My OTSP Secret Sister gave me The Love That Split the World and I need to get back to reading it (got distracted by life outside of books). You have such a great list this week! 😀

Anna and the French Kiss is so darn stinkin’ cute! Stephenie Perkins made me put some faith in contemporary. 🙂 I gave it 5 stars as well last September when I read it for the first time. Haven’t read any of the others, but all are on my TBR! MY TTT is kind of small this week, but oh well.
    Take care,
    Katie
