Tell us a little about your blog! I started the blog last year as part of a project for one of my grad school classes. The focus was on resources for young adults, so we had to do mini reviews, book talks, and even a few booktube videos. I tend to stick more to mini reviews because I get really excited, but then I’m always worried I might give something away. The blog continues to focus on YA books and I’m becoming more involved with other features.
I blog about primarily YA, of course, and I’m working to fit more cats into my posts because I might love cats more than books. Reviews are honestly my favorite posts to write.
What’s been your favorite post you’ve written so far? (Link us up!) I recently did a post about literary tattoos and it was so much fun seeing all of the bookish skin art that people are sporting and hearing about the works that inspired them. I’m hoping to start featuring tattoos from the blogging community.
Got anything special coming up we should know about? I was part of the Book Blogger Creativity Project and my group came up with the feature Book Nerd Bites. Check out the blog to see some of our recipes inspired by our favorite books. Mine involves a 7-layer chocolate cake and the Throne of Glass series 🙂
Whatcha reading? The Reader (Sea of Ink & Gold #1) by Traci Chee
Where did it come from? (Library, purchased, publisher, etc): It is an eARC from the publisher courtesy of the First in Line program.
Any special reason you chose to feature this book? I love fantasy novels and what makes it even more intriguing is that it is about a girl in a society where reading is a rarity.
What’s important that we should know about this book? Would you recommend it? This book is filled with imagination, dark secrets, pirates, diverse characters, and really makes you appreciate the magic of reading. I would definitely recommend it!
Whatcha drinking? Donut Shop coffee with Cold Stone Sweet Cream creamer. My OTSPSecretSister, Christina, gave me the awesome travel mug.
What’s your favorite thing to drink while reading? Something hot! Coffee in the morning, tea at night, or hot chocolate for any time of the day. Hot drinks scream cozy reading time to me.
Favorite beverage of all time. Go! Coca-cola in a frosty cold glass bottle. It is super crisp and refreshing.
What are your top three books you would recommend to other people? Kiss of Deception by Mary Pearson (has an awesome twist), A Court of Mist and Fury by Sarah J. Maas (Rhysand, need I say more?), and The Sleeping Dragon by Joel Rosenberg (awesome D&D type fantasy series)
What’s your proudest blogging/reading/writing moment? A couple years ago a friend of mine encouraged me to enter a writing contest. My short story ended up being accepted into an art festival in Seattle and was published as part of an anthology.
Anything else you’d like to share? This is one of the very first blogs I started following and after reading this feature for so long, I am so excited and honored that I got to be part of it. Thanks Brittany!!
