Welcome back to BOOK AND A BEVERAGE!
In case you don’t know the deal about Book and a Beverage, it’s a very simple yet fun feature: We read books, we drink beverages, we take pictures of them and then I share your photos and a little about you to the blogging world!
Give a big welcome to Lauren from Resch Reads and Reviews!
Name & Blog Name: Lauren Resch of Resch Reads and Reviews
Tell us a little about your blog! Resch Reads and Reviews was founded in late 2013 as a way to share my love of books and my opinion on books with the world. The focus of this blog is on Young Adult and New Adult novels, with some occasional branching out into Paranormal, Fantasy, Erotic, Middle Grade, and Suspense. My name is Resch and I am a 20-something book junkie. My earliest book memory is a book called Tikki Tikki Tembo by Arlene Mosel and its the story of a boy who fell down a well. Needless to say my tastes have evolved since then.
What’s been your favorite post you’ve written so far? (Link us up!) Oh this is hard…probably Laini Taylor’s Daughter of Smoke & Bone…its been months and this book is still in my head.
Got anything special coming up we should know about? Trying to slowly work my way through ARCs so lots of reviews coming.
Whatcha reading? Currently reading Just Friends by Monica Murphy
Where did it come from? (Library, purchased, publisher, etc): Monica sent me a copy and it was a total and complete surprise, she is such a sweetheart.
Any special reason you chose to feature this book? I have been an avid fan of hers since her One Week Girlfriend series when she first came onto the indie scene. She is both traditionally published as well as indie and an overall amazing person.
What’s important that we should know about this book? Would you recommend it? The book is something different for her, she is branching out in the Young Adult scene and it is adorable. Its witty, complex, and full of drama. I would definitely recommend it!
Whatcha drinking? Currently drinking a nice glass of wine.
What’s your favorite thing to drink while reading? I would say my favorite thing to drink while reading is and iced coffee with cream and mocha but seeing as its late here, coffee isn’t a good idea so wine it is!
Favorite beverage of all time. Go! I once traveled to Aruba and while there I had a drink called Killing Me Softly, no idea what was in it and I have yet to find the recipe but it was amazing. I am still craving it after all these years.
What are your top three books you would recommend to other people? Daughter of Smoke and Bone by Laini Taylor (this book is serious perfection), Rule by Jay Crownover (Jay is my spirit animal and overall bad-ass), and Holding Up the Universe by Jennifer Niven (which comes out in October, this book was amazing and emotional perfection).
What’s your proudest blogging/reading/writing moment? When publishers started reaching out to me to review books instead of me spending my paychecks on all the books (which I still totally do).
Anything else you’d like to share? Nope, that’s a wrap!
Thanks, Lauren!! Ahh, I’ve been to Aruba but didn’t have Killing Me Softly! Now I wish I did. And yessss so glad you love Laini’s books! They’re so good aren’t, they!?
