Welcome back to BOOK AND A BEVERAGE!
In case you don’t know the deal about Book and a Beverage, it’s a very simple yet fun feature: We read books, we drink beverages, we take pictures of them and then I share your photos and a little about you to the blogging world!
Give a big welcome to Melissa from Live Love Read!
Name & Blog Name: Melissa / Live Love Read
Tell us a little about your blog! I joined Kelly and Lauren in July 2015 after meeting them through #OTSPSecretSister! So thank you Brittany, Amy, and Alyssa for bringing us together! We have a few reviews plus done a few blog tours, but our main focus has been our weekly author advice feature, Musings of Eternal Dreamers. It’s been a challenge to manage, but it’s a lot of fun! I’m still relatively new at this trying to figure out how to manage the blog and write reviews. Everyone in the blogging community I’ve met so far has been truly wonderful though!
What’s been your favorite post you’ve written so far? (Link us up!) I don’t have a favorite post that I’ve written, but I did enjoy working with Mackenzi Lee to help celebrate the 6 month anniversary of This Monstrous Thing. Oh and our dream cast for the Firewalker blog tour was fun because I got to do it with Kelly.
Got anything special coming up we should know about? Our lineup for Musings of Eternal Dreamers is looking good for the fall.
Whatcha reading? Caraval by Stephanie Garber
Where did it come from? (Library, purchased, publisher, etc): A book trade with Erica
Any special reason you chose to feature this book? Everyone I’ve talked to absolutely loved this book. I myself just recently finished this book and it was phenomenal and unputdownable!
What’s important that we should know about this book? Would you recommend it? The world of Caraval completely captivated me that I may have stayed up until 3AM to finish the book. It was beautifully written and I loved reading about the love and devotion between Tella and Scarlett. Highly recommended!
Whatcha drinking? Homemade cold brew coffee (Starbucks Café Verona if anyone is curious)
What’s your favorite thing to drink while reading? I normally forget to consume anything while reading. However if I do remember to take a break, it’s usually a huge glass of water.
Favorite beverage of all time. Go! I don’t think I have one, maybe cold water. Yeah I’m weird, but I like how refreshing it is anytime I drain a glass.
What are your top three books you would recommend to other people? Alanna by Tamora Pierce, The Gentleman’s Guide to Vice and Virtue by Mackenzi Lee, and Percy Jackson series by Rick Riordan!
What’s your proudest blogging/reading/writing moment? Getting my mom to read books I love! So far she’s loved everything I’ve loaned to her and she has a nice stack waiting to be read currently. I actually posted it to my Instagram account last week haha. Also, anytime I get to meet new bloggers and we get to hang out in person is always the best feeling.
Anything else you’d like to share? I like penguins
Thanks, Melissa!! Aww I’m SO glad you found some friends to blog with through Secret Sister! That is so cool! And yay Alanna! I just read the first book recently and I’m so excited to read more! I can’t wait to read Caraval too!
