Welcome back to BOOK AND A BEVERAGE!
In case you don’t know the deal about Book and a Beverage, it’s a very simple yet fun feature: We read books, we drink beverages, we take pictures of them and then I share your photos and a little about you to the blogging world!
Give a big welcome to Erica from Novel Ink!
Name & Blog Name: Erica – Novel Ink
Tell us a little about your blog! Novel Ink is a blog run by three kick ass ladies; Christy, Madalyn & myself. We focus on YA, but we go out of the box from time to time. The great thing about having three girls is the amount of diversity we bring. We all have our favorites so you’ll see a variety of posts over at Novel Ink.
What’s been your favorite post you’ve written so far? (Link us up!) Hmm, that is a really good question and allowed me to go back and see some of my posts, which was nice. I’d have to say I’m most proud of the post about my cousin. It talks a lot about remembering him and depression. It just is a post that took a lot for me to write and always stays with me.
Got anything special coming up we should know about? Sadly, no, but my brain has been coming up with some ideas just nothing set in stone…yet! I’ll definitely see keep an eye out.
Whatcha reading? I am just starting The Kiss of Deception; a buddy read with Christy.
Where did it come from? (Library, purchased, publisher, etc): It was a gift from a friend!
Any special reason you chose to feature this book? I have been eyeing it for some time and I know a lot of people absolutely love this trilogy so I thought it would be a good book to feature! 🙂
What’s important that we should know about this book? Would you recommend it? Well, I’m just now starting it, but like I said a lot of people rave over this trilogy. I hope I can say after I finish that I will highly recommend it (fingers crossed).
Whatcha drinking? I’m drinking some tea right now because it always calms me down and relaxes me and I need to relax so badly. I’m still unpacking from moving over the past weekend so tea is just my go-to right now!
What’s your favorite thing to drink while reading? I don’t really drink a lot while reading, but if I had to choose it would either be hot cocoa or tea!
Favorite beverage of all time. Go! Oh geez, this is a hard one, but if a milkshake counts then I am going with an Oreo milkshake that I make myself. I don’t like to talk myself up, but damn, do I make a good shake!
What are your top three books you would recommend to other people? This question always gets me, I never know which books to choose…hmm… Okay the first would be Breathless by Lurlene McDaniel. it was a book I read a few years back and it has always stuck with me; such a fantastic read. Second book would be Swear on This Life by Renee Carlino! Oh my gosh, this book was beyond fantastic. I finished it in one sitting. Last, but not least, would have to be All the Bright Places by Jennifer Niven. ATBP has stuck with me ever since it was released. It helped me get through my cousin’s suicide and means a lot to me.
What’s your proudest blogging/reading/writing moment? I don’t know if I have a specific moment exactly, but just starting in general is something I’m proud of myself for doing. Getting it going and just deciding to jump in. I have never really done anything for MYSELF and starting to get into this community was my first. So, finally deciding to blog and join this community is my proudest because I did it for ME.
Anything else you’d like to share? I’m looking for people to buddy read with because I am in a horrible slump. I think if I BR with people it will slowly get me out of this slump. So, if you’re interested find me on any social media and we can discuss some books to read!
Thanks, Erica! I’m so happy to hear that blogging has been so good for you! It’s such a great way to be creative, explore your voice, and interact with other amazing people!

I still need to read Kiss of Deception myself! Hope it’s helping with your slump 🙂 Tea and hot chocolate are always good beverage choices! And now I want an Oreo McFlurry haha. Orea milkshakes of any variety are so good!
