TOP TEN TUESDAY
December 13, 2016
It’s Top Ten Tuesday, hosted by the wonderful blog at The Broke and the Bookish! This week’s topic was Top Ten Most-Anticipated Reads from the 1st half of 2017!
As usual, the new year holds many exciting new releases and I can’t wait to get my hands on them! With SO MANY of my favorite series closing in 2016 like The Raven Cycle, The Dregs Duology, and the release of anticipated stand-alones like HEARTLESS, 2017 looks to be an interesting year and an exciting one for a lot of new/newer authors! Some of my favorite debut authors have sequels and sophomore novels coming out in 2017 and I’m really excited for them to be able to have a little limelight of their own and not be in the shadows of such huge author names (although really, they’ll be huge names themselves because I can’t get enough of their debuts)! Here are my most-anticipated reads of the first half of 2017:
THE CURSED QUEEN by Sarah Fine | January 3, 2017
This isn’t Sarah Fine’s first series but it’s the first I’ve read of hers with last year’s THE IMPOSTOR QUEEN. I felt like it had a slow start but I was THRILLED with the ending and I can’t wait to read this sequel/companion, THE CURSED QUEEN!
BY YOUR SIDE by Kasie West | January 31, 2017
Kasie West is a contemporary queen and she’s an auto-buy author for me. I cannot wait to read BY YOUR SIDE! I actually have an egalley from Harper so maybe I need to read this one VERY soon!
THE LONELY HEARTS HOTEL by Heather O’Neill | February 7, 2017
THE LONELY HEARTS HOTEL is maybe a lesser-known title of 2017 but it has promises of magic and NIGHT CIRCUS feels. It isn’t quite like THE NIGHT CIRCUS but it sounds like it could have the same kind of atmosphere and so, I’m all in!
A GOOD IDEA by Cristina Moracho | February 28, 2017
I loved Cristina Moracho’s debut ALTHEA & OLIVER and I can’t wait to read more from her! This cover looks positively terrifying and I can’t wait to see what she has in store!
TRAITOR TO THE THRONE by Alwyn Hamilton | March 7, 2017
REBEL OF THE SANDS was one of my favorite 2016 debuts and I’ve been dying to get my hands on TRAITOR TO THE THRONE ever since! I’m so excited that the time has finally come to continue this adventure!!
JUST ANOTHER GIRL by Elizabeth Eulberg | March 28, 2017
Elizabeth Eulberg has the most lovely, fun, and happy contemporary books out there. They’re such feel-good books and I’m always up for another one of her novels!!
IT STARTED WITH GOODBYE by Christina June | May 9, 2017
Christina June has her debut out this year with IT STARTED WITH GOODBYE. The cover is gorgeous, the story sounds amazing, and I’ve also had the pleasure of meeting and talking with her on several occasions. I’m so thrilled to read her book and I’m hoping to make it one of my reads coming up soon!
THE NAMES THEY GAVE US by Emery Lord | May 16, 2017
I’m always a huge fan of Emery Lord. She has such an amazing way of creating beautiful, complex characters with big hearts and lessons to teach as well as learn. THE NAMES THEY GAVE US comes out in 2017 and it’ll be an auto-buy for me!
THE CROWN’S FATE by Evelyn Skye | May 16, 2017
Evelyn Skye was my other favorite debut author of 2016 and I’m SO excited for the follow-up to THE CROWN’S GAME. Her writing is positively beautiful and I can’t wait for more of this magic!
A MILLION JUNES by Emily Henry | May 16, 2017
I also adored Emily Henry’s debut last year and I’m thrilled to read another stand-alone of hers! In a world of series, it’s so nice to have a few stand alones to be excited about and I can’t wait to read more of her beautiful words!

Great list! There are quite a few books I’ve never seen before on it, but the covers definitely make me want to look them up. The Lonely Hearts Hotel sounds like such a beautiful read, I know it’s the type of book I really want to read. I’ve been wanting to read more YA mysteries and thrillers, so A Good Idea seems right up my alley right now.
Excited for IT STARTED WITH GOODBYE – definitely on a lot of lists this week. Can’t wait to see what everyone thinks of it when it releases!
Traitor To The Throne is on my list as well! YAY. I ADORED Rebel, and the palace setting of Traitor has me EVEN MORE excited, if that’s possible.
LOVELY LIST.
Fabulous list! By Your Side and The Names They Gave Us made my list too!
I’ve not heard of most of these but they all look interesting. I’ve added The Imposter Queen to my TBR on Goodreads. Thanks so much for sharing!
I really enjoyed By Your Side but I love all of Kasie West’s books, so I’m a little biased! And The Names They Gave Us definitely made it on my list this week. Always excited for new books from her!
Traitor To The Throne was on my list this week too!
