I feel like I’ve been reading a lot “Royal Reads” lately, mostly because I seem to really enjoy a lot of high fantasy! A lot of my recent reads have featured some royal titles of King, Queen, etc so I thought it would be fun to put together a mini-series of some of my favorite “Royal Reads”!
Today, we’re talking Queens. There are so many badass ladies out there and some of my favorite ones are queens! It’s been a trend, especially in YA lately, and it should be a fun one to explore!
QUEENS OF GEEK by Jen Wilde
QUEENS OF GEEK was a recent read for me and so much fun! I loved the realistic characters, great friendships, and fun Con vibe!

THE QUEEN OF ATTOLIA by Megan Whelan Turner
THE QUEEN OF ATTOLIA may not have been my favorite of this series but it was also quite interesting! It really set things into motion after THE THIEF and I did end up liking Attolia in the end.

THE IMPOSTOR QUEEN by Sarah Fine
I had a little bit of a slow start with this one but loved it in the end!! I didn’t quite love the sequel (I actually DNFed it…. oops) but I did like where this book went and the ending had a great feel to it!

QUEEN OF SHADOWS by Sarah J. Maas
QUEEN OF SHADOWS was one of my top top reads of 2015… and then my relationship with Sarah J. Maas fell apart after this. I did love the characters and world in this book and thought it was so well done!

RED QUEEN by Victoria Aveyard
I didn’t think RED QUEEN was the best read but it was entertaining and had some big twists! I do wish it had been a stand-alone because I really had a hard time with the sequel and think it just fell off from there.

BEAUTY QUEENS by Libba Bray
BEAUTY QUEENS was one of my first audiobooks and I loved that it was narrated by Libba Bray herself! It was also interesting to read a satirical novel, which isn’t something you find a lot in young adult! Some moments weren’t my favorite (just a little too silly at times) but it was very clever so interesting!
