Top Ten Tuesday – August 7, 2012: Top Ten Posts On Your Blog That Would Give The BEST Picture of YOU

It’s Top Ten Tuesday, hosted by the wonderful blog at The Broke and the Bookish, and I’m really excited for this week’s topic which is…

Top Ten Posts On Your Blog That Would Give The BEST Picture of YOU (as a reader
and a person — so pick the 10 best reviews/posts that you wish every potential reader of your blog would see!)
I think this is a GREAT idea. Great way for people to explore your blog and see your favorite posts and a great picture of who we are as bloggers!

Here are my top ten favorite posts – Get to know Brittany @ The Book Addict’s Guide!!

ONE: 5/12/12 – Review: Buying Time by Kelly Cochran
This was a big moment for me as a blogger! I had only had my blog around for a month, trying to rapidly read and post reviews. Kelly Cochran actually contacted me and sent me a copy of her book to review and post on my blog. It was my first interaction with an author and my first review request!! I was so excited to read the book and so appreciative to Kelly for that opportunity! Thanks, again, Kelly!

TWO: 5/17/12 – Review: If I Stay by Gayle Forman
This was my first review with a book that I totally fell in love with. I found it thanks to other bloggers and reviews for If I Stay and Where She Went and I think it was the first time that I took the info I found from someone else and it totally blew me away! To this day, If I Stay is still one of my favorite books that I’ve read since I’ve started my blog, and I have all you guys to thank for it!

THREE: 5/25/12 – Freaky Friday #1
This post was from when I was trying to find an awesome feature to start taking part in. I started Top Ten Tuesday that week, but I wanted to create something of my very own, so I came up with Freaky Friday. Each Friday, I’d put myself into a book as a character and see how I’d handle their situations. Well… about 3 or 4 editions in, I realized it was a lot harder than I thought! I actually didn’t remember that many characters as well as I thought I would and it started to feel like I was just recapping a book instead of getting creative with it. I decided to put it to rest when it started getting to be more work and less fun and picked up TGIF instead. It was a good thing to try, but I think I was a bit too ambitious and didn’t really think it through!

FOUR: 6/11/12 – Review: One Moment by Kristina McBride
This was my first approved book from NetGalley! It was very exciting and also a book I really enjoyed! I hadn’t read much YA contemporary at that point either, so it helped open the door a little bit more.

FIVE: 6/14/12 – Fierce Reads Tour – Chicago area recap!
I went to my first author appearance/event on June 14th when the Fierce Reads tour stopped in town. I had SO much fun hearing these great authors talk about their books and it was a blast meeting them too. It made the books that much more lively to know a few inside stories from the authors themselves. Also got to meet a few bloggers there too! (Although I was too shy to say hi, so “meet” is a term I use loosely. Next time, guys… Next time.)

SIX: 6/27/12 – Exciting Blog News!
Lots of exciting things for me in this post! Here was an update for ya: I got a library card (finally), my first talk about getting a Kindle (which I have now), the announcement of The Grown-Up YA’s blogger bookswap (which is LIVE people, check it out! And so much more than a traditional book swap), and my very first hinting and official announcement of what became the Wild Worlds Feature week. I took it upon myself to contact authors for participation in my very own week full of author interviews, giveaways, and promos for exciting new books. It went live 7/20 – 7/27 so if you missed it, check out the links here 🙂

SEVEN: Top Ten Tuesday – July 17, 2012
You wanna get to know me? Then this is the TTT for you. It was recommendations for people who liked X book, and I chose The Hunger Games solely for the fact that I’ve been crazy over dystopians/post-apocalyptic books this year and these are my top recommendations for that genre! Well, so far anyway. Still have plenty more to read!

EIGHT: 7/18/12 – 100th Post Follower Appreciation Giveaway!!!
I reached 100 posts on 7/18 and shortly thereafter, finally hit 100 followers! To top it off, it was my first giveaway as well!

NINE: 8/1/12 – Are Books Back? (Or how Harry Potter led to accidental thievery)
Get to know me even better through a discussion post! I had so much fun with this one and loved all the responses.

TEN: 8/6/12 – Review: Sweet Evil by Wendy Higgins
I fell in LOVE with Sweet Evil! Seriously, if you haven’t read it, go read it. Right now. Stop reading, stop what you’re doing and go read it!

I LOVE your list! I only recently started following your blog, so some of these I hadn’t had a chance to read yet. I really, really loved “If I Stay” too and I’m excited when others discover it and love it just as much as I did.

And your Harry Potter discussion post was fantastic, I’ll be commenting on that one later 🙂

Come check out my top ten list for this week!

  2. Candice

Great links! I’m kind of in love with this week’s topic and look forward to getting to know my fellow bloggers through their favorite posts! It’s great remembering all those “firsts” when it comes to blogging. And thanks for the shout out about the Book Swap; I need to start pushing that more! 🙂

    1. Brittany

No problem 🙂 I can’t wait to get more people on the swap! I have a lot of books I want to share with people (if they want them.. And I’m only letting them borrow most lol)
I really like this one too! It was fun going through my posts to see what really represents me as a blogger as well as getting to see other people’s posts that I may not have seen since I’m still kind of new! 🙂

I think this was a perfect idea for a Top Ten Tuesday post! You definitely have a good range of posts too which is awesome. 🙂
