It’s Top Ten Tuesday, hosted by the wonderful blog at The Broke and the Bookish!
This week’s topic IS (Survey says!): Top Ten Books When You Need Something Light & Fun
TOP TEN LIGHT & FUN READS
Spring is here and summer is rapidly approaching! This is the perfect topic for the present time! In case you missed it, I had a blast making this graphic as a map/guide to helping you choose your next contemporary read and I have a feeling this week’s TTT will contain a lot of these fun reads!
Oh, you guys. I love being a nerd. I was trying to figure out how to put these into categories and they all kept overlapping so I realized a Venn diagram would be perfect!!
Books Mentioned
- Anna and the French Kiss by Stephanie Perkins
- Also Known As by Robin Benway
- Revenge of the Girl With the Great Personality by Elizabeth Eulburg
- Meant to Be by Lauren Morrill
- Nantucket Blue by Leila Howland
- The Trouble With Flirting by Claire LaZebnik
- Ready Player One by Ernest Cline
- The Summer I Became A Nerd by Leah Rae Miller
- Going Vintage by Lindsey Leavitt
- The Statistical Probability of Love at First Sight by Jennifer E. Smith
So those are my top ten light & fun reads. If you need anything fun for the summer, I would recommend any one of those to start with!

Everyone is raving about The Summer I Became A Nerd and I can’t wait to read it now – I will be checking that out asap! Loved yoru list and the design you came up with – I’m still working with bare bones on my blog, so hopefully i can get there one day, I love your site! Hope you had a great Tuesday and your next review – have you posted one for The Summer I became a teenage nerd y et? Would love to see that!
I love your Venn Diagram. I completely forgot to include Anna and the French Kiss. Total brain fart. Oh well.
You made a venn diagram. I JUST LOVE YOU SO MUCH
Great list! I think you know I’ve read a bunch of these. I’ve actually been trying to start The Trouble with Flirting all day today, but I just haven’t had time to sit down and read; going to do that soon…hopefully. And I’ve had Meant to Be for a while now and haven’t read it, but after seeing it on so many lists today I think I need to pick it up ASAP.
I love how you put them into a vendiagram
I just love your infographics/diagrams! I totally agree about Meant to Be – I’m pretty sure I had a smile plastered on my face for that entire read!
I love your pictures. I haven’t read any, but I plan to read Anna.
Nantucket Blue is on my May TBR list! I have high hopes for it so I’m happy to see it made your list this week! 🙂
This is the cutest post ever! I love it. I love that Anna is in the middle…the absolute perfect light and fun read.
I cannot wait to get my hands on The Summer I Became. It looks so cute. I just finished Nantucket Blue a couple of days ago. I like The Revenge of the Girl and Anna is one of my all-time favorites. Great list!
Natflix&Books
Fantastic list, the only one I have is Statistical Probability but the rest are all on my wishlist! Woo hoo for the hot nerdy guys 🙂
So…I’ve only read Going Vintage and Statistical Probability off of this list. I’m such a failure with “light and fun” books, haha. Going to take notes on this list and work on reading them over the summer.
I cannot wait to start Ready Player One 😀
MY TTT
I love the books on your list that I have read and I can’t wait to read the others! I love that you have a nerdy guy section! Nerdy guys are the best! But I mean I’m a pretty nerdy girl, so maybe that’s why I’m saying that?
Yay for being a nerd and creating a Venn Diagram! So much fun, and so creative! I haven’t read any of these (which might be part of the reason why I had so much trouble with this TTT), but hope to read some soon. Especially Anna and the French Kiss. I have heard so many things about it but am constantly put off by the cover. I really need to just get over it though to see what everyone is talking about! Great TTT!
I LOVE THAT YOU MADE A VENN DIAGRAM. This makes my nerdy little heart so happy!
Also – I have read five out of your ten picks this week. Does that mean I should read the rest of them? I think so!
1. You are a dork and I totally love it.
2. You’re creativity is AMAZING.
3. I’m surprised I’ve actually read many of these books! I didn’t like all of them, but still. I’m seeing Robin Benway on a lot of lists. I might have to check one of her books out.
I put Stephanie Perkins in mine as well. 🙂
there are a couple here that i haven’t read, but the others you have listed make a good recommendation for them. I’ve been hearing a lot of good stuff about nantucket blue and i defnitely like Claire LeZebnik, so I want to read her newest. oh, & i HAVE TO read ready player one already.
I love the Venn Diagram… and no worries – you are among nerdy company! lol 🙂 I have not read a single one on your list, though, and that makes me sad. 🙁 I need to get on it!
Brandy
What a great list! I really should get round to reading Also Known As!
This graphic is great! And yay for seeing so many SC books on here! I still need to read Also Known As; I’ve seen it on several lists this morning!
Thanks for reminding me I need to read Nantucket Blue. Always love your graphics.
