Welcome back to BOOK AND A BEVERAGE!
In case you don’t know the deal about Book and a Beverage, it’s a very simple yet fun feature: We read books, we drink beverages, we take pictures of them and then I share your photos and a little about you to the blogging world!
Let’s all say hello to Estelle from Rather Be Reading!
Name & Blog Name: Estelle from Rather Be Reading Blog!
Tell us a little about your blog! RBR is a book review blog that features a ton of young adult reads as well as some grown up reads. I run it with Magan (who lives in TX) and we just have a blast coming up with some features and infusing our own passions into the blog (like shopping and Zac Efron).
What’s been your favorite post you’ve written so far? (Link us up!) I definitely like crossing my personal life with my reading and it was fun to share that in this post about my love of theater.
Got anything special coming up we should know about? Well, right now are participating in year 2 of Sweet Summertime Reads with Fiction Folio and GReads! This is always a fun way to spend the summer. But Magan and I always have some ideas up our sleeves so we hope you continue to tune in!
Whatcha reading? Disneylanders by Kate Abbott
Where did it come from? (Library, purchased, publisher, etc) I was sent a copy from the publisher.
Any special reason you chose to feature this book? I’ll admit I’m kind of in a reading slump and it’s been a long time since I read a middle grade book. I think the change of pace is exactly what I needed. The book covers a short trip a teenager takes to Disneyland with her parents, right before she starts high school. It’s has the perfect mix of romance, growing up, and love of theme parks.
What’s important that we should know about this book? Would you recommend it? I’m really sad because I have only a few chapters left in The Disneylanders. I don’t want to know how it’s going to end because I don’t want to say goodbye! I think this is a great book for those in the middle grade age range, on the cusp of high school, and also those who have a fondness for theme parks.
Whatcha drinking? Abita Lemon Wheat (If you are interested in trying beer and not sure where you start, definitely look into the Abita beers. So many nice fruit options may make you reconsider if you like beer or not.)
What’s your favorite thing to drink while reading? It depends on where I am! In the morning, I like iced coffee from my favorite café near my job. This can last me all day. When I’m home, I love a refreshing spirit.
Favorite beverage of all time. Go! Of all time? Impossible! Well, I did have a great cocktail in a pineapple once in Disney World. (It’s called a Lapu Lapu.)
What are your top three books you would recommend to other people? Right now? I would recommend Dangerous Girls by Abigail Haas (even though it come out on July 16), Thunder Point series by Robyn Carr for those interested in a romance series, and Sean Griswold’s Head by Lindsey Leavitt for an all-around great story with romance, family, and friendship.
What’s your proudest blogging/reading/writing moment? I can’t help but feel a little bit proud when we hear from someone that they loved a book because of us. That never gets old at all.
Anything else you’d like to share? Have you met Pepper, our unofficial mascot?
Thanks, Estelle!! A very fun Book and a Beverage (and now I have to go try that beer)!! Loved having you on BaaB!

This is such a fun feature!! I’m really curious about Disneylanders, which sounds like an adorable book and definitely one I would enjoy. Must check it out! Also, when someone loves a book you recommended to them… that’s one of the best things in the world! I always get so happy when that happens! <3
*waves to Pepper*
I think we should have a kitty play date at some point…I think they would thoroughly enjoy each other 🙂
Hey, pepper!! So adorable. And HEY, ESTELLE!! I <3 you and your Sean-Griswold's Head-recommending, beer-drinking, Zac-Efron-loving self. And that Disneylanders book sounds too cute for words!
Aww, Pepper is a cutie! Glad to see what your kitty looks like. Also, I definitely want to check out The Disneylanders. I love Disney!
Great feature, Brittany.
Pepper is the cutest! And YAY Estelle, who is one of my favorite people in the whole entire universe <3
She is just wonderful!! And so are you 😀
Love the title Rather be Reading, so very true. Pepper is a lovely cat! I can’t drink anything carbonated sadly, so I won’t be able to try the Abita, but I’ll take your word that it is good, especially since it has fruit tastes.
Love Pepper! Haven’t met her yet but she’s so cute! Also, the Lemon Wheat sounds fab… I “like” beer, but I’ve got to be in the mood for it. It’s not really my go-to beverage. I do like different beers, special brews, etc. I’ll have to keep an eye out for the Abita brand!
