Welcome back to BOOK AND A BEVERAGE!
In case you don’t know the deal about Book and a Beverage, it’s a very simple yet fun feature: We read books, we drink beverages, we take pictures of them and then I share your photos and a little about you to the blogging world!
Give a big welcome to Christina from Allodoxophobia!
Name & Blog Name: Christina — Allodoxophobia: The Fear of Opinions
Tell us a little about your blog! We’ve been going for just over a year. I co-blog with Melissa and we’ve been friends for 29 years. We realized we were talking to each other daily about what we were reading and decided blogging about our thoughts would be fun.
What’s been your favorite post you’ve written so far? (Link us up!) My ode to Judy Blume made me cry while writing it.
Got anything special coming up we should know about? Melissa and I are planning some more features and joint reviews – stay tuned! We’re also going to do a Divergent & Insurgent reread before Allegiant comes out.
Whatcha reading? The Beginning of Everything by Robyn Schneider
Where did it come from? (Library, purchased, publisher, etc) ARC from Edelweiss
Any special reason you chose to feature this book? I read it on vacation and loved it!
What’s important that we should know about this book? Would you recommend it? I would definitely recommend it, especially for fans of contemporary, male narrators, and coming-of-age stories. (And Christina’s review is already posted!)
Whatcha drinking? Starbucks Blonde roast with 2 splenda and heavy cream
What’s your favorite thing to drink while reading? Coffee these days, or water
Favorite beverage of all time. Go! The toasted marshmallow milkshake at Goodstuff Eatery in DC
What are your top three books you would recommend to other people? Only 3? How about authors? I regularly recommend these authors because they were some of the first I got really excited about when I started blogging – Veronica Roth, Karen Marie Moning, and Richelle Mead.
What’s your proudest blogging/reading/writing moment? I have two — making it to a full year of blogging was huge for me! And, as an aspiring author, the very first query letter I sent out resulted in a full manuscript request. I thought I was going to have a heart attack!
Anything else you’d like to share? I can’t wait until ALA Midwinter in January – if you’re going, find me and say hello!
I LOVED The Beginning of Everything! Great choice, Christina! So jealous you’ll be at ALA Midwinter 🙂
Funny story: Christina was also one of the bloggers I met at BEA! We actually randomly bumped into each other in the line for Fangirl 🙂 So glad we got to meet!!
You can find out more about Christina at her blog, Allodoxophobia, on Twitter, Tumblr, and Goodreads!

Been so happy to get to know Christina through her great blog, and I’ve bookmarked her Judy Blume post! (Funny story: I so saw her at BEA but did not say anything because I don’t think we were following each other yet and that would have been weird, right? haha)
Loved your Judy Blume post too 🙂 The drink you listed as your favorite sounds different, can’t picture how it would taste.
Thank you for hosting me!!
So happy to have hosted you! And met you IRL! WOO! 🙂
I love the beachy photo of the book and beverage, but it makes me desperately wish it was still summer! I recently bought The Beginning of After because I love the bright yellow cover and the simplicity of the design.
I think Christina and I are book twins. If I were to choose favorite authors, Richelle Mead, KMM, and Veronica Roth would be among my picks!
yay! that coffee sounds amazing, as well as the toasted marshmallow thingie…wish i was closer to DC. Can’t wait to read this book, too!
