Book and a Beverage [33] – Nichole from YaReads

Book and a Beverage

Welcome back to BOOK AND A BEVERAGE!

In case you don’t know the deal about Book and a Beverage, it’s a very simple yet fun feature: We read books, we drink beverages, we take pictures of them and then I share your photos and a little about you to the blogging world!

Give a big welcome to Nichole from YaReads!

TheBlog

Name & Blog Name:   I’m Nichole. I’m the reviewer at YaReads and one of the owners over at YaReads Blog Tours
Tell us a little about your blog! We review all sorts of genres at YaReads, but we mostly stick to YA books….hence the name. We’ve been around since 2009. Personally, though, I’ve only been blogging since 2012. I’m about to hit my two year mark!
We also feature memes, interviews, guest posts, etc. This year we started hosting debut authors. We ran the 2013 debut author intros in September, and we’re just now starting the 2014 debut author intros this month every Saturday and Sunday.
Then there’s YaReads Blog Tours, which JUST opened in…October? I think that’s right. It’s really new, so it’s just a baby right now. It’s my baby, though. I think I feel the biggest relation to that website since I’m actually the one who thought of it. Ivy created it, though, so we’ve got to give her tons of credit! Without her it wouldn’t have been possible.
So that’s basically the blog!
What’s been your favorite post you’ve written so far? (Link us up!)  Oh my gosh, I hate this question! I kid you not. I was doing the end of the year survey and this questions was on it and I was like uhhhhhhhhhhh. I have no idea. BUT. I do really like my review of Unbreakable by Kami Garcia.
I loved that book so much.
Got anything special coming up we should know about? Well, we have the 2014 debut author intros every Saturday and Sunday this month. January is our LGBTQ themed month. February is our YA Heartbreakers event. I can tell you that Lauren Oliver will be making an appearance and offering some swag [; Then, of course, we will have the 2014 Debut Authors Bash next September and the 2015 Debut Author Intros next December. I’m trying to give each month a theme, but I’m still working on it.

TheBook

Whatcha reading? Right now I am reading Wicked Games by Sean Olin. It will release in the Summer. Three words: Holy. Shit. Balls.
Where did it come from? (Library, purchased, publisher, etc) It’s an ecopy from Harper Collins.
Any special reason you chose to feature this book? Well…I’m currently reading it lol. That was the question. BUT….Wicked Games is like no other book I’ve read. Remember that creepy movie, Swim Fan? With the lawyer sister from Parenthood? They are almost identical. It’s like reading Swim Fan as a book. It’s creepy. It’s brilliant. It’s scaring the absolute crap out of me.
What’s important that we should know about this book? Would you recommend it? Heck yes I would recommend it! I’ve almost finished the whole entire book in 5 hours. I read half of it in an hour and a half. Everyone should read this book!

unnamed (4)Whatcha drinking? Currently, I’m drinking Diet Pepsi. I’m addicted to it like a junkie is addicted to crack. But I’m about to go make some tea.
What’s your favorite thing to drink while reading? Tea. I’m obsessed. See statement above about the DP.
Favorite beverage of all time. Go! Tea. Green Tea, specifically. I don’t really get obsessed over drinks…I’m more of a food junkie…but I LOVE Tea. I get this Mint green tea from the Grocery Outlet….OMG. So good! I actually just ran out of it today. You can understand my depression.

Bonus

TBATC picWhat are your top three books you would recommend to other people? Uhhhh. Uh. Uh. Ok. I’m going to cheat. I’m going to choose three of my favorite books this year. I read WAY too much to choose my top three books. And I’ll cheat again and make it four because I HAVE to add Harry Potter into the mix. I didn’t read that this year, but everyone should read HP. EVERYONE!The Beautiful and the Cursed by Page Morgan, Prep School Confidential by Kara Taylor, Unbreakable by Kami Garcia (see review above)
What’s your proudest blogging/reading/writing moment? I could tell you my WORST blogging moment. I’ll never forget it. But I won’t [= But my proudest moment was when I got to interview Kelley Armstrong. Her adult series is one of my all time favorite series. I think I sent her like 30 questions. She probably hated my guts.
Anything else you’d like to share? This was a lot of fun! I’m not a huge chatterbug, so I’m staring at this question with a blank expression and rambling on. Ya’ll are probably sick of me now anyways. But go check out YaReads!

Thanks, Nichole! It was so lovely to get to know more about you through this Book and a Beverage!
Holy crap, Swimfan was so creepy and yet so good… Maybe I need to check out Wicked Games! That sounds delightfully creeptastic!

I hope you enjoyed getting to know Nichole! You can find out more about Nichole at her blog, YaReads, on TwitterFacebook, Goodreads, and YaReads Blog Tours!
