I have loved Friends for a long time now — in fact, I’ve become a little obsessed. It’s hard to believe the show has been off the air for ten years and yet there are still so many diehard fans out there! I’m always watching re-runs and I used to fall asleep to Friends every night. Just recently, my husband (who has always been a Seinfeld fan) has really been getting into the Friends re-runs when we catch them on TV and of course we have the introduction of the show to Netflix (which promptly instigated binge-watches of the entire show amongst many of my friends)!
I had a blast with my Young Adult Meets Disney post (which actually went a little different than this post) and I really just love mashing up books and pop culture. I had the idea to use Friends as the inspiration for another mash-up and after much brainstorming, you’ll see my carefully crafted picks below!

What a cool idea! I think you’re recommendations are spot on. I’m DEFINITELY Chandler, and I happen to be most interested in the book you recommended for him. 😀 Joey is my second favorite and the book you recommended for him is my second favorite rec. EERIE. 😀
This post is so amazing! I love you picks and the way you matched them up with all the FRIENDS. I too have seen the show multiple times and became obsessed with it, and may or may not have had the theme song on repeat all the while I was reading your post… 🙂
I cannot even express to you how much I love this post! I’m obsessed with FRIENDS, and have been ever since my roomies and I watched it in its entirety in our college years. It was the show we returned to again and again, watching our favorite episodes more times than I can count, so I will always have the fondest memories of this TV show! Enjoyed seeing your pairings too 🙂
This is literally SO PERFECT I can’t even. There’s not much to say except I love, love, love everything about this. Especially the books that you chose for everyone! 🙂
I used to fall asleep to Friends every night as well! I will always love that show. One of my favorite episidoes is when Joey puts The Shining in the freezer. haha I still laugh every time I re-watch the show, which I do… often. Anyway, this is such a fun post! How do you come up with these amazing ideas?! I loved your book parings. You picked great reads for each friend!
This post is perfection!
This is such a fun post! I haven’t really watched this show, but I love the idea of matching up episode titles with books. Your picks are perfect. 😀
I actually sat up a little straighter when I saw this post in my Bloglovin’ feed. I am OBSESSED with Friends, like you! I’m always quite conscious of myself when I watch it with other people, because I start laughing before the jokes are made and sometimes talk along with the TV. Whoops. :’) Absolutely love this post!
Ha, I LOVE this. I love Friends so much. I am watching the whole series all over again on Netflix. I forgot how good it was.
OH MY GOSH. I am dying! This is so great, and so funny! I don’t know Miss Congeniality through a wall too well, but I can quote you Friends episodes until the end of time. Love this. I think my most commonly used phrases is, “This reminds me of that episode of Friends when…” Good job, Brittany!
You have the cleverest posts! This and the Disney post are two of my all time favorites!
This is epically awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You are a genius. There’s really nothing else to say about any of this. Flawless choices all around. And YES PHOEBE WOULD LOVE THE RAVEN BOYS.
Yet again another fun mash up post! Great job. I bought Steelheart and look forward to reading it.
I really like this idea and you have some great picks! Have you been watched The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt on Netflix? I’ve been slowly making my way through and in the last episode I watched they were talking about Friends and visiting the fountain in Central Park in the opening credits and talking about how in Vietnam (there’s a Vietnamese character) they call it white people who whine a lot or something like that. Which I thought was funny 🙂
