Book and a Beverage

Welcome back to BOOK AND A BEVERAGE!

In case you don’t know the deal about Book and a Beverage, it’s a very simple yet fun feature: We read books, we drink beverages, we take pictures of them and then I share your photos and a little about you to the blogging world!

Give a big welcome to Maren from The Worn Bookmark!

Name & Blog Name:  Maren Gunderson – The Worn Bookmark
Tell us a little about your blog! I started my blog in September 2014 because I had a lack of book lovers in my personal life and wanted a place to make new friends and discuss everything to do with books.  My husband actually came up with the name of my blog!  I was struggling to come up with one and he threw this one out based on this one bookmark I have that I got in Italy in 2009.  I had only been using that bookmark up to that point so it was pretty worn around the edges.  I absolutely loved the name and so The Worn Bookmark came to be.  I have had a fantastic time getting to know new people and reading new things I might not have read before starting the blog.
What’s been your favorite post you’ve written so far? (Link us up!)  I think my favorite post was probably my Book Journal Project post.  Since writing that post I have updated the book journal but I still like to look back at what it used to look like.
Got anything special coming up we should know about? Yes!  I will be having a spotlight post and giveaway for one of my favorite books of 2015!  That will be coming up on February 1st so keep an eye out!

book

Whatcha reading? I have a few books going right now but my main read is Under The Dome by Stephen King.
Where did it come from? (Library, purchased, publisher, etc):
 I bought it.
Any special reason you chose to feature this book? I’m currently doing a buddy read of it with my pal Erica.  It’s such a huge book so it’s nice to have someone else reading along with me to keep me motivated.
What’s important that we should know about this book? Would you recommend it? The book is about a small town in Maine where one day it is completely enclosed in a dome and the insane things that happen as a result of that happening.  I’m not very far into it but so far it is really good!  Don’t let the length of the book scare you.  The chapters are really short and it has a fast pace.

beverage

Whatcha drinking?
Java Chip Frappuccino, my absolute favorite drink from Starbucks.
What’s your favorite thing to drink while reading? Usually when I’m reading I drink sparkling water.  I love carbonation!
Favorite beverage of all time. Go! Diet Coke, hands down.  I used to drink it ALL the time but now I only have it a few times a month.

bonus

What are your top three books you would recommend to other people? Outlander by Diana Gabaldon, Shattered Blue by Lauren Bird Horowitz, and Shadow & Bone by Leigh Bardugo.
What’s your proudest blogging/reading/writing moment? I think my proudest blogging moment was reaching 500 followers!  It still amazes me that people are actually interested in what I have to say.  I love this community!
Anything else you’d like to share? Thank you to you, Brittany for featuring me on your blog today!  And a huge thank you to my blog readers!  I love you all!

Thanks, Maren! Isn’t this community wonderful!? They just make this hobby that much more rewarding!
I still need to read Under the Dome! I admit, I was afraid of the size. Good to know it goes quickly!

This is such a great feature, what a fun way to discover new blogs 🙂 (and also make me crave a frappuccino, if only Starbucks existed here *sigh*)
