Welcome back to BOOK AND A BEVERAGE!
In case you don’t know the deal about Book and a Beverage, it’s a very simple yet fun feature: We read books, we drink beverages, we take pictures of them and then I share your photos and a little about you to the blogging world!
Give a big welcome to Valerie from He Said Books Or Me!
Name & Blog Name: Valerie — He Said Books Or Me
Tell us a little about your blog! I am a relatively new book blogger who is trying to figure out the world of book blogging! It will be my one year blogaversary in May! I have been trying to review books and learn/try new book blog ideas out. The name of my blog was suggested by my husband, who was helping me brainstorm names!
What’s been your favorite post you’ve written so far? (Link us up!) I enjoyed recapping Book Con from last year!
Got anything special coming up we should know about? You will want to check in around May! I have a few things planned for my one year!
Whatcha reading? I am reading with Love, Fortunes, and Other Disasters as a buddy read with @pili28 for the #RockMyTBR challenge.
Where did it come from? (Library, purchased, publisher, etc): The lovely @teamsheltie sent it to me!
Any special reason you chose to feature this book? We decided to read it since it is so close to Valentine’s Day! Also, I am trying to work on reading the books that I own.
What’s important that we should know about this book? Would you recommend it? To be honest, I am just getting started. A review will be posted on my blog when I am done though!
Whatcha drinking? Candy Cane Lane Celestial Seasonings Tea (I know it is a holiday one, but it is so good, I usually end up drinking it all year long!)
What’s your favorite thing to drink while reading? Tea or I love a glass of hot chocolate!
Favorite beverage of all time. Go! I love French Vanilla coffee or for an alcoholic choice, I would say Piercing Pils by Dog Fish Head.
What are your top three books you would recommend to other people? My favorite book in the whole world is The Richest Man in Town. If you haven’t read it, go read it! It is amazing. I also really love The Happiness Project and any books by Elin Hilderbrand or Emily Giffin. They are my favorites! As a child, I love the Babysitters’ Club books more than anything. I am excited to finally get a chance to see Ann M. Martin speak at Book Con this upcoming May!
What’s your proudest blogging/reading/writing moment? I am just proud of myself for sticking with keeping my blog going. I thought I would try it out, but I have now made a commitment to keep going. I am learning new things and meeting wonderful people every day. I love the book blogging community and I am so proud to be part of it.
Anything else you’d like to share? I grew up in a small town in rural North Dakota but now reside in the DC area. Given the ND factor, I love connecting with people, country music, and learning about what it is that makes you, you. I believe in helping others and that when we do, we help the world be a better place. I also have a retired racing greyhound and two bengal cats, so if you check out my Instagram, you may get a cuteness overdose.
Feel free to stop by the blog or connect with me on social media. Happy Reading!
Thanks, Valerie!! I LOVE your blog name! It’s so much fun.
That tea sounds delightful and hooray for some good Dogfish Head! Yum!
