TOP TEN TUESDAY
January 31, 2017
It’s Top Ten Tuesday, hosted by the wonderful blog at The Broke and the Bookish! This week’s topic was All About the Visuals
So this topic was meant to be about things like graphic novels, comics, or picture books but to be honest… I really don’t read any of those! I tried to come up with something visual and I wanted to go look for book-related graphics and just didn’t do a good enough job of pinning them on my Pinterest account sooooo. I apologize in advance but I’m sharing the graphics that I’ve made for my blog instead! I hope it doesn’t feel too self-promo like BUT it’s also a fun time to share some older posts with graphics that some new blog followers may not have seen or things that just got lost along the way!
One of my favorite graphics series is the collection of “If You Liked…” posts! I select a book (or sometimes TV show, in the case of Gilmore Girls) and pick book recommendations based off of it! I’m SUPER picky about my book recommendations and sometimes they do venture a little off base if you don’t know where I’m going with them so I have full explanations down below the graphic in each post too!
- If You Liked…
- The Fault In Our Stars by John Green
- If I Stay by Gayle Forman
- Divergent by Veronica Roth
- Anna and the French Kiss by Stephanie Perkins
- Harry Potter
- The Lunar Chronicles by Marissa Meyer
- The Winner’s Curse by Marie Rutkoski
- Gilmore Girls
My very first graphics that I ever started was a series that I cleverly (or maybe just a bad pun) called The Book Addict’s GUIDE and I picked a topic to recommend my favorite books! These were less read alikes, more just my favorites in a particular topic! The first ones are SUPER old and so outdated (like omg, four years by now) so start with the later ones (end of the list) if you want better graphics and more recent recommendations!
- The Book Addict’s GUIDE to…
- Contemporary (YA)
- Paranormal/Sci-Fi/Fantasy (YA)
- Crossover Books (YA for adult readers and adult for YA readers)
- Male POVs (in YA)
- Duologies
- Queens of Contemporary
My last set of graphics that I do on my blog are all on the older side since I haven’t run and polls or surveys in forever! They were so much fun but gathering all of that data, sorting, adding, and then setting it all up in a graphic of my own design was a lot of work!! I would love to do one again but I don’t see it happening any time soon!

Just wanted to say I love your spin on this topic! Probably because I love your graphics and I totally look forward to when you post new ones, the genre-specific ones especially.
OOh nice twist on the theme! Yeah, I usually don’t read graphic novels either. But if you look closely at my picks, you’ll see a certain theme to them! There are 2 on there that don’t fit the theme, but if one knows me you’ll know why one is there and the other comes with an explanation! LOL!
Here’s my Tuesday Post
Have a GREAT day!
