What I Loved [August 2019]

In an attempt to get back into the blogging swing, I wanted to revisit my monthly recaps but in a much more casual way! Instead of focusing on stats and posts, I’m sharing some of my favorite things about this month, from books to merch to life and everything in between!

BOOKS

Lots and lots of audiobooks once again but I did remember all about Edelweiss and managed to grab and read a copy of DARKDAWN early which was amazing! DARK AGE basically killed me and I finally had my first true five star read of the year and a Raven Cycle re-read is always a good time!

MOVIES & SHOWS

I started a bullet journal this year in part because I wanted to make my own reading journal but also so I could keep track of TV shows! I realized how much I actually watch while I’m working and when Shane and I sit down to watch things at night so I started keeping track of the shows I’ve been binge watching!

Here’s what I watched in August:

  • Orphan Black (BBC America online): finished Season 5 (series complete)
  • In the Dark (Netflix): watched all of Season 1 (all available episodes complete)
  • Veronica Mars (Hulu): watched 2 episodes of Season 1
  • Killing Eve (Hulu): watched 6 episodes of Season 1 (going to finish in September)

I really enjoyed Orphan Black! The whole series was really, really enjoyable. In the Dark was a random pick based on the preview clip that Netflix showed and I really enjoyed that show too! It was an interesting concept with the main character being blind and it made for an interesting story as well as seeing Murphy’s day-to-day activities and struggles.

Tell me Veronica Mars people… when does it get good? So far we have an O-Town reference in the first episode and it’s soooo dated that it’s funny haha! It feels like a teen show from back in the day (which I guess it literally is) but it’s different than I expected. I’m curious but not hooked yet.

And then I started Killing Eve which is SUPER enjoyable so far. I’m looking forward to watching more in September!

  1. Amber

Veronica Mars got super good for me about 5 episodes in because of something that happened to (start to) flesh out a character a bit more. From there on I marathoned it in like a week haha.

I’m glad you had such a great reading month! Look at all those five stars *__*
